There was a thread saying we should sign Gomez and then at the end of the season let Heatley walk in order to keep Gomez.
Kind of like all of the threads a year ago who said that Havlat should be signed, and Heatley allowed to walk?
And how did that one turn out?
I wonder how disastrous it would have been if the Senators had actually done that!
Bottom line: I don't think some HFBoards posters should be applying for any GM jobs any time soon.
Why is it that so many people over the past 2 years have been so eager to see Heatley leave? It doesn't make any sense for anybody to want the franchise record-holder in both single-season goals and points to leave.
I watched the show, I was kind of "wtff" when Ovy got the LW, but then was happy when Heatley got the RW because, as puckguy says, that's a much more competitive spot. I mean who else is on LW... Sedin? Brunette?
However I think Heatley should have been submitted as a LWer and someone like St. Louis should have had the RW spot. After all, he did play there all season except on the PP.
edit: Is this the first time we've had a Senator on the first all-star team? Yashin back in 98-99 is the only other person I could think that would get it, or maybe Chara in 02-03/03-04...
And doesn't this also mean that Heatley is the #1 winger in the NHL in the eyes of hockey writers, since he would have won LW too?
Brandi, the Trews, Finger Eleven and some lady sang some song I can't remember to a highlight video of the season. Very forgettable.
I don't know if Fish went/why he would go, but I didn't see him. Didn't see Anton even though I had heard he would go. I thought I saw Heater during the red carpet part but it could have been any balding guy in a suit.
