Nice. Now, the Lady Byng next year, to make sure he's collected all the useless silverware.

And then, Conn Smythe in 2009.

Which is why a guy like Kelly Chase and Shjon Podein can win it before the Yzermans and Sakic of this world.

Which is probably why he won the award, not essentially for his leadership within the team. Whether he is a great leader or not, God knows. I think he is a good one. But we shouldn't use the King Clancy as a way to measure leadership. It would be ridiculous.
The King Clancy Memorial Trophy is an annual award given to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community.

It's for both. Countless players make significant charitable efforts and contributions. The King Clancy award is supposed to go to the player who is the best leader on the ice, while also being the best leader off it as well (by setting an example in his community).

It just goes to show you that Saku Koivu is not just a great hockey leader, but he is a leader in everyday life and his heart of a lion helps both his hockey team and his community.
