No thank you :p

Fair deal to me. St. Louis gets scoring depth and a big body that stays healthy, Boston gets a top 4 defensmen, a high pick, and a wake-up call...

That top 4 defenseman sure has been getting benched for the last.. 5 games, now, right? If I were you, I wouldn't do it. But since I'm in St. Louis, by all means, give us Murray.

Some, if not the majority of Boston fans would let you have Murray for less the way he's been playing lately. In the long run, this deal would suit the Bruins better; both are UFA's at the end of the season, Khavanov will be easier to sign than Murray, and probably at a much lesser price (both dollar wise and value wise)

That's probably true, although I don't believe price is really that big of an issue for St. Louis right now. I think the issue is more of getting a scoring winger and possibly a more reliable 4/5/6 defenseman and a possible change of guard in the backup role.

Can't blame you; I don't think the Blues could give Khavanov away...

If Murray is available, however, what Blues' defenseman would interest you? You're not gonna get Barret Jackman or Chris Pronger (unless Pronger's part of a giant blockbuster salary dump deal in which the Bruins send Samsonov, Hal Gill, Ivan Huml, and a first-round pick to St. Louis), so forget about that.

Backman? Salvador? I'd be willing to entertain the notion of trading either of them in a deal that brought Murray back to the Blues.

I dont really see why Boston would do this...is Murray really playing that bad? I dont know too much about his game right now, but I know last year he did exceptionally well...and I thought was doing ok offense-wise this year.

my question would be...with Boston losing another key offensive player, who would take up the slack? Wouldn't you need another high scoring winger for the top two lines?

Thornton, Knuble, Samsonov, Rolston and Bergeron seem to be the only guys left who can score if Murray leaves, with the rest of the team being veteran grinders and such...

Just my take..

It's funny how the St.Louis fans are trying to give the guy a better deal! I guess St.Louis would probably feel guilty for getting Murray and getting rid of Khavanov!

i don't really see st.louis as a good fit for a deal. i haven't seen enough of backman to speak on him, although i liked him in the limited action that i observed.
the thing is, i don't see murray getting traded- the organization seems to think he'll be here for the long haul (through comments by murray himself, and other sources out of boston).
but if they do deal him, i'd bet it won't be until the deadline, and he'll go to the highest bidder. since he's a potential difference maker, the b's would probably get a pretty nice return (i.e. NOT KHAVANOV )

Done, although I think Dallas might want some compensation for the Blues trading their player...

I'd give up Murray for Backman and a 2nd or Backman and Sejna.
I doubt St. Louis would do it though, unless Murray resigned with them.

I wouldn't trade Backman for Murray. As someone said, Murray is a UFA after this season and Backman is finally developing into the player that he was supposed to become. If the Blues trade Backman (which I honestly think is highly unlikely), they need to get a younger scorer in return.

BTW... there are rumors that Khavanov is returning to Russia after this season.
