Truth is from Nylanders pov, the longer he waits the higher his market price is likely to go as the other C's get gobbled up and overpaid.

Thats if he hasnt already agreed to come back and just ditched the agent to keep the commission.

I'd be FLOORED is Scott Gomez signed with the Rangers.

I won't be surprised if Drury comes to the Rangers

I won't be surprised if Forsberg comes to the Rangers

The players are allowed to do what they want. Nothing preventing Lundqvist from bumping into Forsberg and talking shop.

"Hey nice run", "Yea we're feeling great about the team and think next year with one or two key additions (wink wink) we're going to be real competitive". "Cool"

There's a BIG difference between winning the Cup in the swamp and winning the cup in NYC.

Dude sorry NJ isn't as big as NY and we don't have a huge city that we can parade through when winning a cup. NJ just doesn't have that, hence why they are in the parking lot. I was at the one after 00 and 03 and they were both tons of fun. Just because it was in a parking lot doesn't mean it is not fun.

back on the topic. Who knows what Gomez is going to do when July 1st comes. Nobody knows. And the guy sarge18 is referring too has had a very good track record when coming to things being said about Gomez he's pretty much proved to 90% of the Devils board that he knows the Gomez family and knows and has talked to Scott as well. He said that thing about not going to a team that will directly hurt the Devils nothing was said about not hurting Lou but he has so much respect for the Devils Organization that it is plausible that he would either return or go out west which is closer to his family. I don't really care whether he stays or goes because there was never a strong chemistry between Elias and Gomez the only time they had good chemistry is when Gomez actually shot the puck well which was 1 year. Teams know how to stop him and i don't doubt that if he went to the Rangers(which i'm 97% sure he won't) that we could shut him down.

you can't stop people from talking to each other but there is a huge difference between 2 players crossing paths and one saying "you should sign with us" and actually approaching a guy with a contract offer.

Of course. I'm just saying players talk. If I was a UFA with the idea of finding a new home, I'd be talking to my buds about this team and that team. What their needs are, do they mesh with mine etc.

Tom can say whatever he wants to say.Money will determine where the top FA's will sign. Most of those players will be off the market by July 1 at around 5pm

Say bye bye to Nylander. It is time to move Straka and Malik. Both are on the last year of the contract and good stats. We are can good draft picks back for next year. Next year draft is supposed to be good and deep. We need room let some younger ones to play. Does it mean Shanny is gone too?

I'd say so considering some of the responses on here.

I can't see them trading Straka for picks. This is their year.

"I asked him if, without naming names, he felt the Rangers would acquire one of the elite free agents that are out there. He said, 'Yes, I would expect that we will get one and possibly two. We have a new atmosphere here and people want to play here."

Seems to me like he already knows the answer. Plus this would explain the Nylander stalling. A guy can dream, can't he?

Good call.
