Teemu said that he might continue his career

Teemu said to finnish tv that it's strong possibility that he might continue his career and tries to win stanley cup again next year. The interview took place in Indianapolis circuit where he was watching F1 GP. He said that he hasn't decided anything yet what he will do in the future but when asked is there any possibilities that he would like to return and try to win stanley cup again he said that there is strong possibility that he'll try it again next year.

If it's true, than great. We'll know for sure by the end of the month.

http://www.mtv3.fi/urheilu/hockeynig...2007/06/536601 Here's the link to the article. I'm too lazy to translate the whole article, but Teemu was quoted saying:
"Hard to say. Time will tell, it's very possible." when asked if he will defend the Stanley Cup championship next season.

Awesome, if Teemu comes back that would make sustaining a possible Niedermayer retirement a bit easier, hopefully they are both back. When a guy scores 48 goals how can you not be left wanting more?

Somebody get Joakim Noah and Corey Brewer over here to give these guys a pep talk. Retirement sucks. One more year! One more year!

Both should be back.
Talk of retirement inspires agents to make their players available at lower prices to play for a championship team. Burke is working the system.

Go Ducks!

question guys Is Teemu signed up for next year if he does decide to comeback? (not that we would have an owner willing to sign him but just wondering)

I don't think he is signed, as he had only a 1-year contract...but if he decides to come back, it will be with the Ducks...not likely that he will play for a different team.

Selanne is an UFA but it doesn't matter, if he decides to come back there's only one team he would play for.

Hasek might be a better contact. He made a poor choice, regretted it, and it took several years for him to finally have a successful NHL campaign again.

That said, all of the veterans who were around during the lockout know what it's like to not play hockey for a year. That could be a factor in the decisions by Teemu & Scotty.

I think it comes down to this, and this is from a Sharks fan who hates the Ducks, but loves both Selanne and Neids for their enourmous talent and sportsmanship....

I believe that Selanne is waiting to see if Neidermeyer (scott) retires, and if he does, than I think Teemu will just leave as a champion as he has wanted to do his whole career, instead of risking leaving as just a great player...

However, I do believe that if Neidermeyer returns, I'd put a lot of money on Selanne coming back for one more year, and he could, he doesn't seem to have lost any of his abilities since his rookie year..

That sounds about right...

By the way, I work at a bar and I got a call for a guy with the same name as your screen name. I yelled his name repeatedly and everyone just looked at me funny. He wasn't there that night...

I don't think Teemu's decision will be impacted by Scotty at all. I think the "going out on top" thing is one of those idealized things that players tell themselves they want. Teemu loves playing, and he's had a blast these past two seasons. You can see it on his face. I think he's just having a hard time walking away from it, Cup chances be damned.

Yep, Teemu confirmed that too. "There is no other options"

Thee man was here in my city and I missed him? I had a feeling he would be here for F1, but not like I'd have a chance to have met him anyways

Thge man just scored 48 goals with 94 points and you want him to go so you can make room for Bobby Ryan?

I'm sure there are much better options to make room for Bobby.
