Pomminville Called Up...

With Dumont's injury sounding a little serious the Sabres immediately called up Pomminville after the game per the post game show.

Jason had 2 goals and 1 assist in leading the Amerks to a 4-2 victory tonight over Albany.

I havn't heard any update about his injury but to me it looked like he hurt his back the way he was grimacing whenever he moved. That could be a major injury.

During Hockey Hotline Jason Bristol reported that Dumont suffered a hip injury. He also stated that he would probably miss about a week of action. I certainly hope that's the case. Guess we'll find out more later in the day.

From the Buffalo News...

That's because leading scorer J.P. Dumont sustained a right hip injury 7:45 into the game.

Dumont said he hoped to be back in two weeks, but added a team doctor informed him it could be "a few weeks." Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said Dumont will be out at least one week.

Dumont fell awkwardly on a routine play in which defenseman Aaron Ward had him hooked. Dumont dropped to all fours after trying to get up. He howled in extreme agony for several minutes before linemates Daniel Briere and Jochen Hecht could gingerly guide him off the ice.

Looks as if Jason may get a serious audition, I hope they plug him right into the Briere line and give him a chance to score and produce.

He had some pretty strong chemistry with Roy when they were together and I think they share a house too. I'd like to see something on the order of...

Kotalik-Brown-Afinogenov
Hecht-Briere-Satan
Pyatt-Roy-Pominville
Boulton/Peters-Taylor-Mair

... but that's just my two cents.

Pyatt-Roy-Pominville....
Right on, nice bet. Its a shame the Sabres didn't really get any powerplay time against the Caps. I don't want to put too much pressure on him, but rather put him in a position to succede.
