Call-up from the Dogs ?

If Saku is seriously injured, who do you think Gainey going to call up ?

Plekanec
Balej
Gratton

My guess is that Balej and Plekanec will both stay in Hamilton but who knows !

No one. Kilger is sitting on the bench and we need a center. Perreault to line one, Kilger to line four.

You don't think that the Habs will prefer to have a back-up just in case ?

Gratton is coming back soon. That should be enough. No point in disrupting things in Hamilton when a number of guys seem to be finding their groove. I say save the callups until we really need them or until we manage to dump some of our dead weight towards the end of the season.

I think its best for our young players to stay with the Dogs this season. No need to rush them. But if we are in the playoffs race I do see Balej getting called up when the roster limit expands.

What do you mean by "when the roster limit expands"?

When a team enters the playoffs the roster limit expands for the team. I'm not sure by how many players but I know its at least a couple.

Gazette this morning said that Gratton has a concussion, while before they were only saying he had headaches. So I would assume this will keep him out of the lineup for at least another 7-10 days.

I can't see anyone being called up for tomorrow's game, but after that we play 5 games in 8 nights starting on the 3rd so if both Koivu and Gratton are still out then they'll call someone up.

Call Balej up. Send Kilger Down
Call Plekanec Up. Send Dackell down
Call Hainsey up. Send Bouillon Down
Trade Rivet or Quintal, Make Komo play!

You are right on that point, every playofff team can call up some of their minor leaguers for depth. I asked the question because you created doubt when you said that Balej might be called up if the Habs are still in the playoff hunt. He might be called up if the Habs actually are in the playoffs, not just contending for a spot, because the roster limit holds until the end of the regular season.

Lingering headaches are a sure sign of concussion. I know, because I've had a few in my time. Vomiting is another key symptom.

You're bound to be disappointed on all scores.
