Vokoun was drafted in the ninth.
I'd actually consider this, but I like Mason more than Vokoun anyway.
When Vokoun is traded (he will be, since Leipold wants to cut his losses), he'll be traded for draft picks and or prospects. No salary of any sort of significance will come back.

What would the conditions be on the first rounder? If the conditions are reasonable, I think it is a good offer. However, the offer would only be considered by the Preds IF we need to cut salary AND we think Mason is our guy. I'm undecided on both. I think we can have Vokoun with a limited budget, and I think that Mason is simply not as good as Vokoun (although I love Chris, and if this happened....I wouldn't be upset because I think he will do a great job as a starting goalie.)

I wouldn't call Vokoun injury prone. He had a broken finger last season...and prior to that, he wasn't "injured," they thought he had blood clots in his legs, which is a condition...but it turned out he didn't.
Wow that is honestly ridiculous. Vokoun could never merit that. Toivonen and maybe this years 1st.
So, a goalie that to this point has been a disappointment...and a pick that falls outside the "blue chip prospect" range...for an all-star goalie and former team mvp?
