I really like those jerseys, very sharp looking. Aren't their socks and pants going to be striped in white and blue?

"Capitals" is emblazoned in dark blue lettering on the chest of the jerseys, with the letter "t" extending down and forming a hockey stick alongside a stylized puck. "Washington" is written in capital letters over the club's name, and three stars -- representing Maryland, the District and Virginia -- sit above the city's name. The numbers and lettering on the back of the red home jersey are white with a blue outline. The font figures to be easy to read from the seats.

A shoulder patch features a bald eagle, a 'W' intertwined in its spread wings, perched above a silhouette of the Capitol building.

The white road jersey features the same logo on the front but the numbers and lettering on the back are red with a blue outline.

The players' shorts are blue, as are the socks, which feature red and white striping.

The Maple Leafs just acquired Vesa Toskala and Mark Bell for a 1st rounder (13th) a 2nd and 4th rounder all in this years draft.

Good move by Toronto. Young cheap good goalie. Makes the thread about getting biron for hardly much seem futile now.

Here's the Leafs link: http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=211547&hubname=nhl

Also, I just heard that the Flames aquired Aucoin too. No details and I'm looking for it on TSN too.

Here's the Aucoin deal: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=211518&hubname=

i'm stoked for the new uniforms... with teams going back to more classic looks and colors it's going to be great. everything was heading towards the same tones with jerseys out there... looking forward to our orange, the caps in red, etc. etc.

I'm glad the Capitals are going back to something similar to their classic red jerseys they had for the first 20 years of their existence. They were the one team I really wanted to revert to the classics as I thought they were the type of jerseys that as soon as you say them, you knew it was the Capitals. Not like nowadays where most jerseys look the same.

Though the team I really want to revert back to old school jerseys is of course the Flyers. Orange all the way!!!! No more of this black crap.

I'm listening to an interview with Toskala over a Toronto radio station and it is somewhat comical.
  • He is in Finland
  • has yet to hear from anyone with the Leafs' organization
  • when asked about Mark Bell he said "Why are you asking me, I'm a goalie." Then chuckled and responded he is "a great guy who didn't have a great season."
  • can't wait to get to Toronto because it's a hockey city
  • has one year left in his contract
  • and best of yet...is partying on a yacht in a summer party when he was told of the trade.

They're both old enough to be the fathers of some players on the team.
