I would simply say he's overpaid...not sooooo overpaid. And it's more than offset by the fact that Getzlaf and Perry are soooooooo underpaid.

If we get Teemu back, he'll get 6-6.5 cap hit which leaves us under 42. Trade Bryz for a d-man, and sign Huskins and Jackman to minor deals and we're still far from the cap which means we can trade for anybody at the deadline

So, I'm guessing this is what the Ducks might look like come October:

LW-C-RW

Penner-Getzlaf-Perry
Kunitz-McDonald-Selanne/UFA
Moen-Pahlsson-Niedermayer
Miller-Brent-Parros/Shannon/Carter

Niedermayer/UFA-Beauchemin
Pronger/O'Donnell/UFA
Jackman-UFA

Giguere
Bryzgalov/Hiller

Flame away

The Cap means nothing to this team. We'll have room, but not the cash to use it for the most part. Which is great, best team in the NHL without spending loads.

I might be wrong (wildcat?) but Kuiper was dealt to the Tampa Bay organization. And I'm not sure if he ever had an NHL contract.

42-44 is our self imposed cap.......that's what he's talking about.

How can I've missed that?

I know he was not tendering a contract offer from Chicago, but I believe he signed with the Canucks as a free agent.

Yes, Kuiper was dealt as part of the Shane O'B AND Doug O'B for Joe Rullier trades.

If you're going to list Hiller at his base salary without any bonuses then you need to update the salaries to reflect all base salaries such as Giguere.

You have it half-and-half now.
