Kuznetsov dominates Capitals prospect awards

Since the likes of Alexander Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom, Karl Alzner, and more recently Marcus Johansson, have graduated to form the core of the Washington Capitals, the organization's prospect pool has been dwindling.

Kundratek seen as most improved, that gives us some hope. Surprised Schilling only at 20 on the prospects list but perhaps that is due to his late arrival just before the playoffs. Hopefully a full season will have him up in the top ten.

They made note of the thin pool of prospects that the Capitals currently have, "Beyond Kuznetsov and Braden Holtby, the Capitals prospect cupboards are fairly bare, and it's reflected in their first annual prospect awards." Yet we have some that are anxious to trade off our round one draft picks.

I am don't see the point in considering Kuz a prospect. If he hasn't come here for 3 years, is he still our best prospect? He pads our overall grade.

If it's best to always take BPA, which many are quick to argue, why doesn't he?
