Two years younger.

Brent was one of those guys I was hoping would make it, but there's a logjam for the next couple of years. And he was moving the wrong way on the depth chart.

Don't know if it's a good trade, I really liked Brent even if I expected more from him.

Brent is a solid player and needs an opportunity to play. I wish him the best.

No problem with this move, Dixon's a good character kid.

And just like that, there goes the last member of our 2002 draft (Even though we technically have him from 04). In fact, other than Bryzgalov, who's likely to be dealt, we don't have anybody the organization has drafted until the 2003 draft, with Getzlaf, Perry, Hynes, Saunders, Miller, and Southern still here.

Homegrown talent? What's that?

Assets for making deals to improve the team.

Still plenty of homegrown talent here.

So he's in Augusta through an ECHL contract? Or did I miss/forget about a move or something?

good trade. Similar player but we get 2 years younger.

Brent needed a change of scenery.

I really like this trade, only because I got to know Tim when he played for the Cincy Ducks and I just moved to Pittsburgh two weeks ago.

Didn't Southern attend our training camp one year but never made the transition to Portland?

I think he ended up playing for the Augusta Lynx if I am not mistaken.

Yes, he played in Augusta and I was expecting him to show at the Ducks prospects and rookie camp as well, but I may have missed something.

He's not signed to an NHL contract and his rights are no longer owned by the Ducks. That is solely what I was referring to.
