Voted Montoya slightly over Cherepanov. Wouldn't object to either though winning this spot.

Cherepanov over Montoya by a hair. More potential in my opinion, perhaps because he's younger. Montoya developed quite a bit since his UM days, but hasn't lived up to the billing yet IMO.

Shouldn't Cally and Girardi be considered "graduated"?

Nope, they are still considered prospects by the HF criteria...as is Immonen.

Voted Montoya because he's already proven something at a pro level. Cherry will definitely get my next vote.

Add Sauer.

Voted Cherry.

The RSL is the best league other than the NHL. This makes him a legit #2.

After deliberation...

I decided to go with Cherepanov over Montoya...

I just think, when all is said and done.... he'll go further, and make more of an impact, especially on THIS team, sooo... slightly splitting hairs there.

Consistency demands that I vote for Montoya, so, surprisingly, that's precisely what I did.

Add Sauer.

I went with Cherepanov for a combination of factors. First, more and more of Montoya's flaws are being revealed ....most notably the injuries and the yankings by Schoenfeld. Goalies take the longest to develop, so it is conceivable Cherepanov could even make the NHL 1st, and complete his development before Montoya does. So, I don't think that, even though Montoya is three years older than Cherepanov, he is three years ahead of him in development.

While the upper end of both players is high, I believe, skill-wise, Cherepanov could conceivable max out higher. His hands, vision and creativity are all superb and he such a feel for the game offensively that he has the ability to max out slightly higher than Montoya.

And, finally....18 goals...as a rookie...against competition that is probably slightly better than the AHL...breaking the rookie goal-scoring record of Pavel Bure, and bettering the likes of Ovechkin, Kovalchuk and Malkin...that's heady stuff.

And, PLEASE add Sauer.

Voted Montoya. For all the good things we've heard about Cherepanov he has yet to step on the ice in NA. His stats in the RSL are impressive but still would like to see how he looks against NHL'ers. Monty on the other hand has played well in the A. He was actually looking great until injuries and callups ravaged the Pack d and left them with nothing. Gotta go with Monty.

Callahan

I voted Callahan. I'd agree that perhaps HF rules should be changed so that he wouldn't be listed, but he is listed so he got my vote.

Unlike Cherepanov or Montoya (or Staal), he HAS played in the NHL, and looked mighty promising to me. I like everything about him: aggresiveness, confidence, fearlessness, and his talent. He might not have the raw talent of others, but he has intangible qualities in abundance. I dare say he'll be a leader as he gets older.

I'm going off the board and picking Bourret

Based on the potential impact he has for the org. and on experience already shown. I think Montoya's the higher level prospect, but Bourret is the more valuable to the Rangers right now. And Cherepanov is new and shiny and I don't want to reward him for that

Really, I'm just being contrary.

People outside of NA will tell you that, along with the SEL, the RSL is the best professional league not including the NHL. At worst, its even.
