Why, oh why?

Has anyone else noticed how frequently they're showing blackhawk games on espn? Does anyone have a clue why this is?

Maybe ESPN is sympathetic to the plight of die hard Blackhawk fans who can't see their team.

ESPN probably thinks the Detroit/Blackhawks rivalry draws a huge audience :p

I also do not understand why ESPN feels the need to show every single Blackhawks/Red Wings matchup on national feed.

Makes no difference here in Chicago. Even ESPN games are blacked out when the game is at the UC. Wirtz has us completely locked out, the ****** bag.

Who cares at least they're showing hockey games. They do have a Flyers-Pens game coming up though I think.

I was noticing the same thing. Last year it was a Shark game every week.

It's just a thought, but I think they chose the Detroit/Chicago game because there are easily more ratings in any Detroit game than in an Ottawa/Atlanta game or an Edmonton/Calgary game.

Those were the only other games on the schedule last night. Detroit v. Chicago was a no brainer choice.

They may have been entertaining, moreso than the wings/hawks game, but ESPN can't take into consideration how entertaining the game was. They can't know that one game will be more entertaining than the other before the games are played, but they must decide which game to show.
