The OTHER Lundqvist

Just for fun, what would you guys offer Dallas to unite the Lundqvist bros? I'm sure Henrik would be a fan of the move, and Joel would welcome the fresh challenge as well, provided Renney gave him enough playing time!

It'd be nice to have them both in the same organization, but I wouldnt give enough to make it worthwhile for Dallas. 3rd Rounder?

i want to get Joel. I didnt see the game when they versed dallas because it was blacked out but it would be awesome to have them on the same team! They support each other, and that would be awesome!

Tell him to learn defensive wing and he can replace Orts, there we go hahah. I'm sure he's one person Hank would have no problem with telling him to watch his man and challenge him and block that shot and stop screening me etc

Sorry, language pet peeve. Verse, as a verb, can only mean to familiarize by study or experience. Versus is a preposition that means against.

So I'm well versed in philosophy.
Tonight's game features the Rangers versus the Islanders.

I have this weird eye-twitching thing that starts happening when I see "verse" to mean "play" or "oppose."

But I'm a smug *******.

That would be pretty sweet to have Joel play with Henrik.

Having J. Lundqvist could replace Ortmeyer.

I don't want to see Henrik's jersey to have the H. Lundqvist though

I know, that's what the poster is saying!

Just to be clear, it should be "they play versus each other" and not "they verse each other."

If you want to use "verse," it should be "Henrik is well versed in Joel's moves, because they're twins."

Hes a fan favorite in Dallas, we have enough guys here that does what Joel does, he would be more of a throw in towards a bigger trade, or one of those guys you go out & trade for @ a trade deadline to add Depth for a P/O run.

Ok, suppose there was a bigger fish in Dallas you'd want Joel to be a throw-in with. Boucher, perhaps.

I loved what he did with Dallas in the playoffs. I remember him scoring a few clutch goals. I remember reading an interesting description of his game. It said he doesnt skate, shoot, or do anything particularly well, but somehow you do notice him in a positive way on the ice. That is exactly what I saw when I watched the playoffs. However, I don't think I would offer much to get him. As others have said, we have plenty of prospects in the pipeline who play his kind of game.

The fact that he is Henke's twin MAKES HIM SPECIAL. We all say a goalie's pysche is important, no? Well, having your twin playing on your team couldnt hurt could it? Frolunda did just fine, no?

Whatever, he'll be here eventually, i'd put money on it.

I don't think the Neidermayers have S. or R. on their jerseys.
Can anyone confirm?

I'd take him at a cheap price as a replacement for a guy like Hollweg. Hollweg, if you ask me, really does nothing for this team anymore except for take stupid penalties. He can't score, and is a fringe NHL'er. Joel would be an excellent replacement for Hollweg. He may not be as physical, but he brings a far more well rounded game. He's smarter, a better penalty killer, and can win faceoffs as well. He may not be as physical, but do we need someone that runs other people from behind constantly, taking stupid penalties in the process? I'd rather have a smarter 4th line that can score every now and then over a physical and energetic 4th line.

so youre saying that Henrik, a 2 time vezina finalist in his first 2 years in the NHL, an olympic gold medal winning goalie, who did all of those things w/o having his brother on the team...is going to get better because his brother is on the team?!

sign me up!

Erh? Not as physical?

Have you seen Joel Lundqvist play hockey?

He doesn't fight, but he led Dallas in hits/game.

He's got a serious edge to his game, which actually was a problem in SEL, but is probably the main reason why Dallas mgmt and fans like him.

(The golden season that gave Henrik the SEL playoff records in GAA and save% gave Joel the SEL playoff record in PIM )

But anyway he'd be cheap to sign, just give him a oneway contract, that's all that he has asked from Dallas.
