Edit: ^^^^^^ It's not unusual to hear reports like this before someone like TSN picks it up, but they're not always accurate.

Yeah, there's been reports out of players home countries about them re-signing before and they've turned out to be false, or at least premature.

I expect this thread to get locked without some verification, but if true, it at least takes some pressure off the Rangers for the upcoming FA frenzy.

Yes, hopefully if true, they can focus on one or two FA's and maybe get a better idea of what they want to allocate to ... Drury.

For now lets treat this as a rumor and wait and see if TSN or another site picks it up.

Hopefully true and hopefully at good money. I'd like to see Nylander get rewarded for his good play but i'd also like to see it at money that allows us flexibility.

Cmon dude you can't just drop that and leave.

Did you hear it yourself? Did someone else tell you?
Do either of you know how to speak Swedish?

Could it be the station just talking about Nylander firing his agent that had a three year deal on the table??

Which radio channel did you hear it from? At 16.00 (10.00 NY time) there's the national sports news again. I'll listen if they mention it there.

Expressen, http://www.expressen.se/sport/ishockey/1.737654, says from a direct quote from Nylander "it'll be solved any moment." The headline is direct and forward "Nylander extends with Rangers." Nylander further says "I have my reasons" why he sacked his former agent.

Expressen also says Nylander has told them he sees no other alternative than to continue playing for Rangers.
- The feeling is mutual, I am comfortable playing here and they are comfortable with me playing here.

I don't have time for a full translation, have to go to the store now.

Nylander: "I expect it to be solved any day now"

http://expressen.se/sport/ishockey/1.737654 (in swedish of course)

The relevant bit is that he doesn't see any alternative to Rangers. He likes the team and the team has stated that they want him back. They are just negotiating the details.

Also:
Quote:
- I had my reasons to switch agent. Now I'm working with Mike Gillis who takes his job seriously and is negotiating a good new contract.
Which says that he fired Paul Theofanous for the way the contract was negotiated (behind Nyls' back) not due to the content of the contract.

It also sounds like they have agreed in principle but is haggling over details. So expect Nyls to be signed before the weekend.

This would be great to have this done so the team knows what is going on before free agency.

Huge to have him in the fold and be able to move on to improving the team, rather than scrambling to fill a lost player.

I am getting absolutely no work done as I keep refreshing HF and surfing to TSN/the Rangers site to see if it's confirmed.

Good news... keeping my fingers crossed that this is legit.

3 years though? Thats a little surprising to me. Still, no complaints... lets see what the dollar values are

If this is true..

it'll give a clearer picture as to what the Rangers can do in the offseason. Three years would be perfect; let's see the price tag...

If its true and Nylander resigns and they can sign Drury and a decent defensmen...

This will be a pretty damn good summer for the Rangers.

Lending credence to my theory that the Nyl's dissatisfaction with the deal was merely the cover up for the real reason he fired his agent.

I'm crossing my fingers... I would a three year deal for Nylander. Very glad if it's not just one year.
