Save of year that I've seen has to be during Pens/Habs game last week when Sebastian Caron should have gotten arrested for grand larceny on Mike Ribeiro last week at Bell Centre. Maybe some of you Canadian fans recall the play. I know I do cause it was as remarkable a save as I've ever seen in my 30 years following this great sport of ours:
Ribeiro had absolutaly wide......I mean wide open net, he took a hard nice shot as he lifted it towards middle of net. Caron came out of nowhere and while flopping around on his belly, lifted his stick in air and somehow, someway(luck mostly) it got in the way of the puck as it was headed into wide open net. Ribeiro was so shocked, I recall him laughing about it while skating around a bit after the play.
The odds on the puck not going in with just a goalie shaft blade in the way of the net compared with size of the net......well, you do the math!.....hehe
