First we strike gold in the draft, then we strike gold in the UFA market and we didn't surrender one friggin asset! After the Knicks made their big draft day trade I knew Slats was going to swing for the fences.

Realistically I think we are sitting pretty. We actuially got youinger, Gomez 27 for 34-25 year old Nylander. Drury was a need that had to be filled. Subtract out Jagr, Shannahan and Straks and now the NYRs actually do have alternatives. granted they may not be seen for a year ot two, but they are there and they are real.

Big difference between going the UFA route with your cupboard bare vs a totally restocked and over flowing cupboard.
