Ranger fan here. Briere is the better player. He takes the point race between the two, but it will be close.

I think briere will outscore gomez by 10. Hell play with gagne who will be more consistent goal scoring wise then shanny will be with gomez. I prefer gomez for the rangers and he is exactly what we need but he doesn't score a lot of goals unless he's playing the rangers going end to end

There was no reason for getting Gomez. He doesn't fit with Jagr and Nylander did.

Both are vastly overpaid, but Briere is a way better player when healthy.

If Briere keeps his play up, he's not even overpaid, let alone vastly overpaid. The deal is too long, but at the moment he's not overpaid.

The Gomez signing will prove to be the worst UFA signing this offseason. Gomez will bomb in NY .

I think Briere will be a more integral part, and definitely score more points. But going to an extreme that he will bomb? Doubt it.

Please, Briere took a deal that offered him 8 years and made him 10 million in the first year.

Having Biron (a close friend) and other french canadians he knew from back home was a bonus.

Um gomez is bombing sure he hasn't scored many points but he's set up chances that shannahan hasn't finished on and he had a chance to score a goal against both the isles and the sens that he wasn't able to finish on

Briere could get 100 points playing with Gagne. I don't think Gomez will get above 80.

Gomez has 2 points in 5 games against Vokoun, Gerber, Dipietro, and Kolzig.

Briere has 7 points in 4 games against Kiprusoff, Garon, Luongo, and Dipietro.

It's still early, but that's some impressive production against some very good goalies, as compared to Gomez's limited output against no one really special (besides DiPi)

Wow briere is doing great he's scored on the same goalie you said besides dp for gomez then garon , kipper, luongo who has a high gaa right now I wouldn't say that's much tougher

Gomez can't score against gerber and neither are many others, vokoun same boat as luongo, not playing well then I'd say kolzig is better then garon,
