I'd love to see Forsberg in Vancouver for a year if the price is right. He's too much of a gamble to sign long term, and there's always the swedish factor ("I may or may not go home next year/play with MoDo/play in the NHL).

I could live with a 1yr, 3ish mil. deal to put Forsberg in a Nucks sweater. Nonis has been dead quiet so far over the last couple days, I suspect he's probably trying to pull off a deal with short-term benefits that'll help the Nucks until next off-season and they've got more room on the books.

IF Forsberg is healthy come August, and wants to sign, I think it would be Colorado. But I still have my doubts that he will be healthy. But can you imagine the offense the Avalanche would be putting out each day. imagine these lines

Wolski - Sakic - Brunette
Smyth - Stastny - Hejduk
Arnsaon - Forsberg - Svatos
Richardson - Guite -Laperriere

Don't expect him to sign before August though.

how is the avs cap situation? How much money do they have left to spend?

Around 6. I would prefer leaving a few million cushion for deadline deals or other minor signings.

Vancouver? Detroit?

I think you and I know well enough he's not going to sign with one of Colorado's rivals, and it's not like Vancouver has money to throw at him anyway.

It'll be Colorado or Sweden.

As for the Avs cap situation, I would think Forsberg would take a discount to play with Sakic in Colorado, as he's done it before.

Currently he's enjoying his first painfree vacation in many years. He is slacking and playing golf and has stated that he is no hurry do decide if he's to play hockey next season.

If he's healthy come aug/sep he'll most likely sign a one year homer contract with Avalanche or Modo.

I would be nice to Forsberg play together with Naslund once again. Get Niklas Sundstrom from MoDo and put them together and the worlds best junior hockey line will be reunited...

The avs signing Hannan might give him more incentive to come back to Denver so he doesnt have to face his best friend anymore

It'd be cool to see him with Naslund, but it's just impossible under the cap unless some serious salary shedding goes on

Yeah, because you also know that Ryan Smyth would never sign with a rival of his lifelong team..... right? Forsberg has stated that he has always wanted to play on a team with Naslund, and Naslund likewise. The Canucks with Forsberg would probably become a top-5 contender for the cup, and with this likely being Naslund's last year in the NHL, it would make perfect sense for Forsberg to sign in Vancouver.

Then Forsberg can give Hannan a piggy back ride just like the good old days.

It would make perfect sense, but it's not going to happen and I think he already stated that, if he's going to play in NHL next season he would play for one of his previous teams (Nashville, Phildelphia or Colorado).

I'd say that the chance of Forsberg playing for Nucks (or any of the other local NHL rivals) is equal to the chance of him returning to Sweden and playing for Timrå or Skellefteå.

Sure he'd love to play with Nazzy and Sundström, and he will.
But it will be with Icebreakers (and summer golf at Veckefjärden).

I can't see him going to philly they have briere carter richards
I can't see him going to nashville an unstable franchise
I don't know if he wants to play on the third line for the avalanche
I don't think Detroit has enough money to sign him..

It's been his repeated mantra in every interview.

Which means, Avalanche, Flyers, Predators or Modo.

And I'd say that Flyers and Predators are out of the loop.

So if he plays at all, which is very doubtful, it'll be Avalanche if NHL, Modo if SEL.

One year contracts, massive homer salary, in either of the cases.
