I missed the first. What did mact do to deserve his bench penalty? It was at the same time as the Minny high stick penalty.

I think he blocked a shot near the end of the first.

Anyone else ever notice that Semenov looks kinda like Mr. Bean sometimes?

He was yelling at the ref over the quick whistle, where he thought Staios had scored, but the whistle had already gone.

Did I just see Scott Ferguson on the PP? That has to be a new low.

It's called coaching.

We're down 2-1 now.

you know, this season is not meant to be. I can't remember the last time an oiler goal came off a deflection from the other team and yet we are good for one against every game.

How many deflected shots from our defense sail wide of the net yet it seems that every shot from the other teams defense gets deflected right at our net.

Smyth gets a stick in the face in their crease but the refs are checking out the cute blonde in the 4th row. Izzy gets a stick high and the minny player looks like he was shot. Automatic penalty.

it is not our year. we need some breaks and are due for about 50 in a row.

Is there a more ineffective player in the Oiler lineup than Semenov? He should have been sent down instead of Bergeron. He looks terrible out there. Bad passes, overskates the puck, bad clearing, no shot. Luoma looks better than him.

Why Salo was on his knees on the second goal I'll never know.

Ins't this typical Oiler hockey though? Alot of scoring chances byt the bunch of stone hands on this team could hit water if they were standing in a boat. Then Minny comes back and gets a bad goal. Typical.

oilers suck as usual. no emotion and no desire, wow what a surprise, this team doesnt need a break it actually needs a heart.
third period oilers barely muster a shot and lose as usual by one, what a surprise.
overall this team stinks, i mean except for york poor guy at least deserves to play with a team that cares.

Well, I just can't see this roster coming home from the road trip intact, especially if they lose tonight. They're playing just well enough to lose, and this game is HUGE. If they win tonight, Minnesota is a 3 points ahead with Edmonton having a game in hand. Big hairy deal. They're in it.

Lose the game and they're 7 points out heading into a road trip against some monster clubs.

Mike York is playing the best hockey I've seen him play. Wonderful player. There's lots of effort out there, and they're playing a whole game tonight, but that's no longer enough.

The Edmonton Oilers need to win this game. Period.

york seems to be the one oiler who has been playing consistently through this bad stretch. ive been a dvorak fan however he really needs to learn to finish. york is carrying his line, raffi wwwwwhhhhoooo, non existent for weeks now, so much for singing his praises.

I'm really impressed by Luoma tonight, first goal not withstanding. He's very patient, but doesn't hold on to the puck forever, like the Oilers are so prone to doing. It looks like he is going to do well here. His game reminds me of Cross with a lot more skill - he doesn't hit terribly hard, but he clears the net, and he is very slow, but somehow gets to the right place when he is needed.

There are only two players I have any respect for and they are Jason Smith and Mike York. Smith has been taken away with undetermined injury and that is not good.

F**k some of the Oilers are useless. There's a shoot in, Isbister goes to get it in the corner, gets possession of it, and Laraque goes to stand right beside him. What is he doing!

Or

The fourth line (hmmm, Laraque again) are cycling. All three forwards are behind the red line. They cycle for 10 minutes and the only they do is waste time.

Bone head mistakes like this is why Edmonton is currently one of the worst teams in the NHL.

Mactavish putting Ferguson on the PP is a discrace it's like he is trying to spite Oiler fans. It boggles my mind why the worst PP in the NHL wouldn't out their best point shot (Semenov) on the point and fire away. The Canucks used to do it with Aucoin and Mtl is doing it with Souray. Not greatly talented D-men but they could fire the puck. I haven't been on the fire Mact side but I am now moving that way, he seems to have no clue when it comes to lines or PP combos.

But that's the coaches' fault.

This team isn't good. Plain and simple.

Y'know, we could save money by replacing MacT with a laptop running a random line generator.

Would anyone even notice the difference?
