Ok, first off no team last year scored 300 goals. The previous year only 2 teams scored 300 goals with tops being Ott at 312 (I think). Before the new rules, 260 was about the upper limit. A top 5 offensive team will likely score around 270 goals. Now for mine.
Gagne - 55
Briere - 33
Knuble - 28
Hartnell - 24
Carter - 27
Lupul - 26
Umberger - 12
Richards - 11
Upshall - 9
Eager - 7
Downie - 6
Kapanen - 4
25 goals from defense
Total goal production: 267
This should put us as about the 6th or 7th highest scoring team in the league and I think that's being very optimistic.

He scored 47 two years ago in only 72 games. Last year he scored 41 in 76 games with no one at center most of the year and playing for the first half of the season hurt.
If Gagne is healthy all year, he's a very good bet for 50 goals next year.

If him and Briere are healthy for the majority of the season, he hits 50 easy.

Well, I'm not certain where you or a few others got your stats from but clearly you are not in agreement with either NHL.com or ESPN.
Here's the team goals report for the regular season from both NHL.com and ESPN:
http://www.nhl.com/nhlstats/app
http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/statis...e=2&league=nhl
Both have Buff at the top with 298 and Ott 2nd with 286.
Some of you guys who are predicting 275+ goals just by our forwardss alone, way to be optomistic.
I guess that's kind of like many of us expecting Pronger like returns for trading Joni.
If we get 240-250 from our forwards and another 20-30 from our defense we will be doing well and our young guys will be having a pretty decent year. If our forwards do somehow hit 260 goals or more then most if not all of our young forwards will be having breakout years and just blowing the league away. Just remember, Buffalo only scored 270 goals last year by their forwards.
285 by our forwards???
300+ ????

I'll revise mine
G - A = P
Gagne - 48 - 30 = 78
Briere - 32 - 55 = 87
Knuble - 30 - 30 = 60
Hartnell - 25 - 35 = 60
Carter - 31 - 30 = 61
Lupul - 21 - 25 = 46
Kapanen - 10 - 25 = 35
Richards - 18 - 30 = 48
Upshall - 22 - 26 = 48
Eager - 6 - 15 = 21
Potulny - 10 - 18 = 28
Cote - 2 - 6 = 8
255 from the forwards
Timonen - 13 - 40 = 53
Smith - 2 -9 = 11
Coburn - 6 - 20 = 26
Hatcher - 2 - 5 = 7
Kukkonen - 8 - 18 = 26
Picard - 11 - 24 = 35
42 from defensemen
= 297 total goals
Being an ideal situation (nothing is ever ideal), factor out about 20 goals and it brings the total to 277 . I think that is reasonable, a bit optimistic, but not totally off the wall
