Hartford WolfPack - Roster

ok so with these signings, the team is starting to round out minus any trades that might occur. i figure it is time to have a go at predicting what hartford would look like. what do you guys think?

Dawes and dubi being wild cards with staal or baranka because i think they can make a run at the team. but i will include them. but immo i will not....and bear in mind, this is a complete shot in the dark.

dawes - dubi - bourett
korpedo - ani - jessiman
byers - pyatt - moore
dupont - hunter - bahensky

staal - sauer
lifton - baranka
potter - hanna

ext. reese, puriton, busto

monty
winky

Nice change of subject away from the UFA madness

I think Staal will make the club out of camp so I don't think he will be with Hartford. I thought AA was playing another year in Russia? Is he coming over this season?

Your lineup doesn't have any vets in it and i'm sure there will be 3-4 of them injected in there somewhere like Weller (Though im not sure if we resigned him, I seem to remember reading something that we might not have?) and Purinton will be on defense. Gotta have a few of the elders in the lineup to teach the youngins

There is one thing i'm sure of though....Hartford is going to be a very exciting team next season. We got some fresh faces and we have a bunch of players who already played 1 season and now are ready to breakout.

Other players:

Jake Taylor
Francis Lessard
Jordan Owens

And I can imagine Purinton being the new captain.

Staal will not be in Hartford. How could you forget about Sauer, Hartford's #1 D man this year.

Do you guys think Jessiman will be in Hartford to stay this year or do you see him making another trip to the EChl

He will start in the AHL, but it's his spot to lose.

Hopefully he continues to develop..

I could see Cherepanov getting out of Russia and playing in Hartford for a year or half a year to get used to the American style game before coming up to the nhl...

Nobody really knows where he stands with the club at this point in time.. who knows maybe he's working his ass off this offseason and he'll try to make the team again. But I'm not sure he wants to finish his career in the ahl, so maybe he'll get traded or re-entry waived..

As the original poster says there are a few who might make the Rangers. Also Bruce Graham is signed and may be a regular for the Wolfpack. Bahensky is a complete free agent I believe as is Potter and Purinton. Hunter has to either accept or not an AHL contract. Reese hasn't signed as far as I know and Kaspar is still in the mix. Busto from what I've read looked really good in the development camp. Strudwick is a possibility especially if Staal takes it away from him in training camp. While it looks as if the Rangers might take the cheaper option of Valiquette as backup on the big team--I wouldn't altogether discount Montoya's chances. He's a better goalie anyway.

Yeah, Jessiman gets better after every trip. Less and less invisible. He needs to use his size more though.

Talking about the need for veterans in Hartford, one guy that might be doing that if he isn't traded is Ryan Hollweg...Kinda on the outs with the Rangers at the end of the year and He's got a lot of proving to do to get a spot back in NY..Strudwick as a Black Ace D-man/Wing and COlton what's-his-name enter itno the equation..

I doubt that Hollweg would clear waivers.

The New York Rangers want 20-year-old Slovakian Tomas Zaborsky to play again for the Saginaw Spirit.

That request prompted Saginaw to trade away the eighth pick overall in Wednesday's Canadian Hockey League Import Draft, sending it to Windsor for the Spitfires' No. 1 pick in the 2008 Import Draft and an eight-round selection in the Ontario Hockey League's 2010 Priority Selection.
