Bottom line is no one should have expected us to get better. We've all known the stance ownership has had on giving Feaster money to spend. We've all known well before the cap went up that the team itself would be capped at 44, so why is it such a shock? We have the same money we had available last season, so lateral moves were pretty much all Feaster COULD do.
He brought in guys at a lower price tag with the hopes he could find a guy who will explode in the system.
Like it or not, until one of the high contract guys are out, or ownership allows the team to actually compete with the other clubs in terms of money available, this is how things in Tampa are going to go. No big name FAs, no super trades, nothing fancy at all. Feaster will continue to plug cheap pieces into this team because that's all he'll be able to do for a good while.
