Of course not. But he's a good little player with a take no crap attitude and Bergie likes those.

He's not that bigoted.

I don't get it. This is what our prospects are for and I'd sure rather see them getting the chance right now.

I knew something was wrong with Bergeron, he knew that he speaks French....

Seems really committed to the team already. Great to hear. At one point, it's true that the most refreshing comments are coming from non-quebecers.....

Welcome aboard Tom!

I really like this signing.

Oh he keeps Ferland in Hamilton? Cry me a freaking river.

Begin is injured or plays injured 80% of the time anyway.

Ferland has to go through waivers, Ferland's worked hard in camp every season and keeps getting the shaft. Won't deny I was partially annoyed for that reason alone. lol. I like the guy, I really wanted to see him have a better shot next season... now this lessens his chance even more.

I keep typing the same thing.

Sure Gainey went all out the get a star so it's not his fault for lack of trying, but do look at what he has done.

It's clear as glass that both Gainey and Carbo were even more disgusted with the effort of some players last year then they let on.
Remember "work hard work harder", which we saw was NOT answered by the bad guys. No matter how you look at all the moves, the 2007-8 may end up at the same place but they sure won't play the same as last year. Just who strands out as a quitter on this 2007-8 team?

Ok maybe Dandy but quitters tend to flock together to invent excuses,
You can't flock if your alone if he does quit then go ahead and flock off

I like Ferland too. I've always rooted for him....but we needed somebody who is willing to drop the gloves. None of our prospects really do that.

Send a message via MSN to cap10bfl
chipchura, ferland, begin, lapierre, murray, kostopoulo s,lahti,milroy....thats alot of depth players....

begin and lappy are locks, i should assume for lahti also because he wouldnt of come to north america then...

maybe he just doesnt think that neither of ferland or milroy have what it takes to be in the nhl

murray is out for sure now, finally

i heard gainey mentioning that our top 4 centers are koivu, pleks, smokes and chipchura, with grabo being the wildcard, that means lapierre will probably play right-wing, so for me, that means chip has a spot on the team, unless he really does bad at camp, and our fourth line should be: begin chip lapierre

why pay a guy almost a million to be the 13th forward, or play not even 10 mins a game?

i really think a trade is imminent, why would gainey have 8 fourth liners, or barely 3rd liners (maybe except lahti and chip)?

i really hope gainey is up to something because then the habs will be the team with the best and the most 4th liners in the nhl...

If Ferland could improve his skating, he would be a good 3rd line guy, but then again if Dagenais could improve his skating he could of been a 30-40 goal scorer, and if Ribeiro could of improved his skating, he could of been a really good 1st line centre, and so on, and so on.
Whaaaaaa? He's no speedster but skating isn't an issue.

I haven't heard boo about Ferland's skating ability before this off-season. What gives?

Why did the Habs draft so many players in the first round who aren't good skaters? Serge Savard and Houle brought in a number of leadfoots .

Guys, I cant believe you like Ferland so much, I think its pretty obvious he missed the boat ...

And Muray will most likely go see his friend Downey in Hamilton this season.

Well...I keep refering to Lapierre's comments about Ferland. It was verry encouraging to here him say he thought Ferland was probably the closest prospect to the NHL and that all the D in the AHL feared him because his body checks hurt.

I've been reading the Kosto thread in the trades forum. All I can say is...wow. Sounds like a great pickup.

i'm thinking about it more now though...

i like it but what does it mean lineup wise...it definately means 2 defensive lines

so will carbo go with the same Defensive system or let lines 1 and 2 go buck wild and lines 3 and 4 be gritty and more conservative

I'm not convinced.
Honestly I can see something like
Begin-Lapierre-Kosto as a 4th line
With Ferland as a reserve player.

I think we've got enough offensive prospects to fill out the top 3 lines. Not talking anything extraordinary but all 3 lines could have some offense.

That's why I will like to see Ferland in our team, maybe not every game.....but if Begin keep going with the injury I prefer have Ferland around then Grabovski......

I like are young players but I don't want to see them play on a line they should not be.........Grabovski isn't a really good defensive player........

Grabovski, Locke, D'agostini are the kind of players that need to play on some kind of scoring lines.......
Milroy and Chipchura must prove they are good for the 3rd line......
Ferland and Lapierre must show that they can be very good on the 4th line......

This year, Ferland have everything to win or loose......the training camp will be very important for him.........

Let's face it, BG and Carbo made a big mistake last year by keeping both Downey and Murray......they will keep the best players not the best veteran........

If Ferland isn't that good the Habs will release him......
