I really surprised and happy that Montreal signed Kostopoulos... Any comments on your former player?

Thanks

A good hockey player and a great teammate. No matter how things are going, you won't find fault with TK and his effort. That said, he won't challenge Ryder for the team goal scoring title.

The Kings didn't get much of a taste of it, but he did have a 71 point season in the A. If needed, he can form an extremely versatile line with Smolinski and that's my uneducated guess what his role will be in Montreal.

Best of luck TK.

TK was and will always be a favourite of mine. I am sad to see him go. He was a character player who worked hard every shift of every game. He was also both great in the locker room and with the fans. Actually, he was one of the few people I noticed who always touched the fans while going to and from the locker room - and it wasn't a surprise to see him give away a stick after a game every so often either. Great character.

Tom was one of my favorite players on the Kings. At least now I'll have someone to root for on the Habs.

Tk always gave 110% and NEVER gave up on a play. His grit, work ethic, and character will be missed. I don't think he's reached his ceiling on point totals either. You got a good one Habs fans...good luck TK!!

(1) Why wasn't he traded in February if the Kings weren't going to re-sign him?

(2) Why wasn't he re-signed for $900K if Dean-o found $1.2M for Modry?

I found something on YouTube that I hadn't seen before. It's Kostopoulos, Thornton and Avery appearing on MadTV...

Freakin' hilarious!! That may be the only time anyone has ever rendered Avery speechless (except of course for reporters trying to get an interview, but that's self-imposed)!

One of the few guys on the Kings that was likeable "from the standpoint" of giving everything he had on every shift. Be it Jon Sim or Tom Kostopoulos, there's always a place on an NHL roster for someone who is going to energize his team and provide some spark. My admiration for Bob Gainey just increased a little bit more for insightfully snapping this guy up. May he find a long and prosperous career in Quebec.
