What About Glen Murray or Erik Cole?

Murray is 34, scored 28 goals in 59 games last season, and has averaged 28 goals per year over the past three seasons. He makes a little over $4 million though. Probably wouldn't cost as much as most other players on the trade market.

Cole is only 28 and scored 29 goals / 61 points last season. He had 30 goals in 60 games the season before. He would fit perfectly in the Stars system as a soild two-way guy and could be a point producer for this team. He would cost significantly more than Murray (Boucher?), but the upside is probably worth the risk.

I'm afraid Phillippe Boucher will not get it done. Thirty four yr. old d-man who had a career year in 06-07. Boston would want a draft choice or prospect in addition. Murray has been offered around the league and is definitely available.

If Boston wants that much for Glen Murray, he'll retire in Beantown. Remember he's got an inflated $4.5 million salary and he's not exactly matching his production of a few years ago. Given the market for defencemen, Boucher is a steal for $2.5 million. It is Dallas who would have to be given something else to make that deal happen.

Just to clarify I think most people here, including myself, would not do Boucher for Murray (nor would the Stars). But if we got after a guy like Cole then Boucher's name is bound to come up.

As a Bruins fan most of us want to trade him for cap room. So in return we would be looking for a young cheap Dman with top4 potential or a young Foward with top6 potential.

But if you wanna give us Boucher well take him in a second.

no and no. too lame, too expensive (Murray), both didn't do what was expected and there's NO way I wanna give up Bouch for 1 of those 2.

try again

Not that I'd want Murray but....

Hey, just remember that Boston traded Joe Thornton away for almost nothing. You could probably get anyone you wanted from Boston. That trade didn't make Boston look very smart. Too bad the Stars didn't go after Guerin. They already owed him $2 million dollars from the last time he was here. He should fit in nicely in NYI.
