OT: New Jersey MEANS New Jersey!

So I heard on the radio that this Live Earth thing in New York is going to be a big thing tomorrow. Except for one thing...it's in New Jersey. They've labeled it New York but I believe its in Giants Stadium. I heard today also that NJ senators are trying to push to make a bill where everything that takes place in NJ must be labeled so, because it makes the state look bad, and I agree. Just wanted to see your opinions, because factoring in if this gets passed, the NFL teams will technically need to be called the NJ Giants and NJ Jets.

As a life-long Jersey Girl, I've about had it with all these teams saying they play in NY when in fact they play in NJ. A few years ago the Giants took the "NY" off their helmets and were just the Giants, then, before you know, they're back to being called the "NY" Giants. What's up with that?

Well if you like New York, get the teams to actually play there.

i like the name "new york". i don't particularly care where they play... and i'm sure it drives some decent cash flow into jersey... so wouldn't complain too much.

LOL I like it. Pulling the "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim."

That'll do.

I agree I never understood that, and I like the idea of sticking to NY.

If it's in New Jersey it should BE New jersey. No two ways about it.

I thought this was about...

the Flyers website. Under the drop down menu from FANS ZONE they have a link for "New Jersey FAQs".
