All kidding aside, I'm dead serious when I say this, i've never said this before.
I dont know what we should even bother playing the season, they should just give us the Cup in October & start the Parade down Board way, save the other 29 teams in the NHL the embrassment of the NYR's pounding them on a nightly basis.

If we re-sign Lundqvist, we're taking the cup

We don't even have a set roster with this team yet.

Very early poll IMO.

Let's wait until the opener so we know whos in and whos out.
This team (especially the defense) could be different than what it is at the moment.

Welcome to the new NHL. That contract is fine, infact it will look rosey down the line. Props to Sather for handcuffing Lou driving up Elias price last season.

Market rates, my friend. I'm nervous that he'll be able to take that next step in NY, but you weren't going to get him for less. Look at the other UFA contracts over the last two years and tell me what player of his caliber signed for less? (And don't throw out guys who got extensions - the situation is much different than that of an UFA on the open market.)

Offense and goaltending we can compete with anyone. Defense is still a bit of a question mark imo...although Staal is a big wildcard. I do worry that we lack overall toughness, especially on the blue line. It's hard to say how far we go right now. The postseason matchups will have a lot to do with it as well. It would certainly be nice to have some home ice this time around.

We go 82-0 in the regular season, 16-0 in the playoffs and Gomez scores 10 goals, one for each million.

On paper you have no defense. Which you can't deny-I know, you allowed 5th fewest shots in the league or whatever last year, but we're talking strictly on paper. So no, on paper, you're a 5th seed and lose in the first or second round.

That said, I see you guys winning the Atlantic and losing in the ECF.

Of course every Ranger fan here expects to win the Stanley Cup next year. If you say otherwise you are probably lying or just being modest

And on paper you were 10th in the conference in goals for and yet everyone's raving about your offense right now.
