Like the above two posters I'm expecting to see a bunch of goals in this game, these are two of the highest scoring teams in the league. Plus it's tough to call either teams defnense core that will be dressed tonight, "top notch".

Can't say it isn't entertaining, 3-3 after 2, so it's hardly a goalie duel. The way this one is going it's gonna end up being 7-6, 6-5.

Very exciting game, too bad we only play them once a year, and have to play Nashville and Chicago 6 times.

All in all, 'twas a bit of a wild one...I was a little bit distracted for a few minutes but I did get to see it.

The distraction was worth it - I'm a great aunt again...my niece Monica (aka Link_10_2003) gave birth to her son Alex tonight. But she smiled when I told her Pasha picked up two points tonight.

Happy new year, gang, and here's to all the guys - Derian, Jamie, Nicklas, Jiri, Mathieu, Pasha, Brendan, Jason, Brett, Kirk, Steve, Mark, Boyd, Mathieu, Chris, Darren, Jiri, Darryl, Jason, Curtis, Steve, Kris, Manny, Nathan, Dominic, Henrik, Ray, Nicklas and Tomas...we love you all!

Wow what a fun game that was, especially after those last two Wingsgames.

Sweet game, nice to see a high scoring game which was expected from the top #2 offences in the NHL. Zetterberg was fabulous as was Datsyuk and Shanahan. Great to see Chelios back too who played quite well I might add.

Kovalchuk is quite a talent and an offensive force... but he needs more focus in his own end.

As a Thrashers fan I was quite impressed with Ilya's play in the defensive zone. I saw him break up more chances last night than any other Thrasher's forward when Detroit was on the rush.

However, he still doesn't play well when the opposition gets set up in our zone. He is always looking for a chance to get the puck and get up ice with it and doesn't stay with his man out on the point. These are things he'll learn to do as he grows as a player though. He has made a giant leap in his defensive play from last year.

I was very impressed by your set of youngsters. Some of the passes Datsyuk made were unbelievable and Zetterburg is no slouch either. Those two are a joy to watch. Creative, talented players.

I'm still not sure on that last goal if the puck ever crossed the line, but that is just sour grapes from me. Leaving Hockeytown with a point is a good accomplishment, but having two teams play wide-open, offensively minded, entertaining hockey was even better.

Thank you much...you guys have nothing to be ashamed of...you gave us a hell of a fight.

I'm sure that with age, Ilya's skills will improve...I mean, we all said the same thing about Pavel, and now look. But I'm glad we escaped with the two, and it's on to Carolina - and eightspokedb will be there taking pictures of Pavel for me - at least I hope so!

Happy new year to all of you!

You know, I thought Z's winner was a goal until I saw the replay. It looked like it hit the post, rode along the cross bar and never went in. And each time I see the replay, I become more and more sure it wasn't a goal.
