yeah but they don't exactly have to have the team set in stone at the start of the season.

They could still upgrade the D during the season at some point. In theory, it should be good enough to duplicate what they've done the past two years

Me neither. Very solid, but not even close to enough experience. Although, I can see the youngsters rewarding us in the future if not next season or the one after that (if we still have them that is)

It's funny how these big FA signings have reinforced the importance of the draft and building from within. We've tied up a lot of years and money this offseason, so it's absolutely imperative that we continue to develop guys like Tyutin, Prucha, Staal, Callahan, Lundqvist, et al who can step in and give us (hopefully) solid production while they are young and cheap. Then, in five years, we can re-sign our guys once again and make another FA splash if need be. Supplement the developed core with big names, rather than trying to assemble a core solely from FAs.
