From an Islanders perspective, no. Fata has bounced around a lot in his career, I am not convinced that he can be a goal scorer on a good team. Mapletoft will be a solid player in the future and he still has good upside. He brings a lot of good things to the table. His physical play is something we will need, he is a lock third or fourth line player, but he could mold into a second line player. Look at Torres with Edmonton he is very similar to Mapletoft in his play and was only projected as a third line player with the Islanders. I wouldn't do Mapletoft straight up for him let alone add a second especially when he could have been picked up from waivers for free in the past.
