Great interview. Thanks for posting. He seems to have this drive in him that I like.

OOOOH and I like this part about Selanne (not so much about S. Nieds ).

Quote:
Are you familiar with the Ducks top star Teemu Sellane?

M. Kondratiev:

No, since I never did play for the NHL club. But I will have a chance to meet the Finn, since unlike Scott Niedehmayer, he is nto leaving the sport quite yet.
And I did support the site... clicked on some Google ads. You got a really good site running there.

So Teemu's not leaning to retirement? Isn't it quite strange how Kondratiev would be aware of this?

That was a good interview.

I found one thing interesting. He mentioned that he didn't sign with SKA St. Petersburg, but if you go to SKA St. Petersburg's site...It says that they signed him to a contract and it current NHL contract has an out should he not make the Ducks team and sent to the minors.

http://www.ska.spb.ru/index.php?cont...&month=07&arj=

Quote:
The team's chairman of the board of directors, Aleksandr Medvedev, mentions MK's one-way Ducks contract and calls the SKA contract "insurance." Medvedev says, "If Maksim doesn't make the "main" Ducks, then he can return to SKA."
It's near the bottom of the page.

Maybe that is an agreement that he had with SKA, but its not very likely that he would return to Russia even if sent down to the AHL.

Anyone who says Selanne isn't retiring is OK in my book.
