They don't want to pay his obscene salary for him to play in Hamilton. My guess is he'll get picked up, but Montreal will have to pay part of the salary.
I have the same feeling. My guess is BG didn't had enought time to talk to the GM of the team who would like Audette to talk about is salary...I would like him to play for another team. Don't want him in Hamilton to steal a spot for our prospects...
Oh ok thanks I did not see it looking in the Canadiens section.
What they say is a bit weird though:

That makes no sense. You don't have to put a player on waivers for conditionning purposes, as it's precisely a way to avoid it.
Anyway, I don't know why they would be doing this. Maybe a team incquired about him after the deadline, and they thought something could be worked out financially before they agreed to take him. Otherwise, I have no clue why they'd be doing this. If no team wanted him before, no team will have changed his mind in 48h.
The habs placed him initially on conditioning waiver whereas he should have been placed on pure waivers. You can't pick-up a player on conditioning waiver. It was a technical error the habs did. Must have checked the wrong box or something on the filing. That is why they placed him on waiver again. This time someone can pick him up....and hopefully will...
