Tucker Proposal

Ok, I know everyone will hate it as a youth-for-age trade, but the Rangers have plenty of future third liners with an outside shot at the second line, so here goes...

Callahan and Malik for Tucker and #2 or another pick/prospect.

MY REASONING:

If the Rangers sign Peca (and do this only if you sign Peca), they can have the prototypical third line you always want - defensive, gritty, with some offensive skill.

Avery - Peca - Tucker would be able to go out there every day against top lines. Imagine Avery and Tucker banging the other team's stars every night in the playoffs. By game 5-6, the other team's stars will simply get worn out from the double-punch.

Straka - Drury - Jagr

Shanny - Gomez - Prucha (a pure playmaker like Gomez should play with pure scorers, and putting Drury on this line would waste Jagr's passes to Gomez, who can't score)

Avery - Peca - Tucker

Hossa - Betts - Orr/Rookie

Rozie - Tyutin
Staal - ??? ... still need a defenseman better than Pock
Mara - Girardi

I dont know, I feel like there is no need for Tucker when the Rangers have Avery. Also I think that dealing Cally now would be a throw back to the Rangers of old when they had some youth they would send them away and bring in some older vet. I would love to see Cally get a full season under his belt and see what he can do. So IMO I dont like anything about this move except for the loss of Malik. But thats just my $0.02

Lots of people hate each other on different teams, but put them together and they become friends. Look, if you get paid millions a year, just shut up. All of us working stiffs have to put up with all sort of crap from our bosses/clients for a hell of a lot less than $2M a year.

I would suggest you put Alex Bourret with Tucker and Avery, they could be the most hated line in the NHL. Seriously.

Yeah I'm gonna pass here. Losing Malik is nice, but still, other than the cap flexibility it does nothing to improve our team.

Pass.

Let's keep our young prospects. Callahan is a nice one.

If you do this deal you are getting to the point wher there is too much turnover on the team. I can handle the changes we have already made and will make (signing 3rd line center and possibility of another goaltender) but that's about it. From this point forward, it should all stay in house. Only plauible thing I see is maybe adding a defenseman at the trade deadline if the need still exists.

Nope.

The Leafs have no use for Malik (if anything, they are probably trying to shed defensemen). Plus Tucker is signed for 3M for a multiple years.

This is not a trade or even the rumor of a trade. Please use the word proposal in the title of the thread. It is misleading to use the word "trade"

Wouldn't do it from a Leafs perspective ...

Callahan is a nice young player to have, but he will not duplicate the number of goals Tucker scores, nor will he bring the other intanglibles which are a main part of Tucker's game.

No go i dont wannt Callahan going anywhere, unless its for a top 6 young foweard included in the deal, u could still have Malik and NYR has Avery they dont need Tucker. NYR top 3 lines are tightly locked up i think, so i dont see this deal making sense.

I also just noticed your the one who wanted to give up tyutin Montoya and a 1st rounder for either of the Johnsons, I would expect anything different from this thread,if i noticed u started it b4 I replied.
