The people who will trade Boyle for a bag of pucks are as bad as the people who as Mike puts it "think Boyle does no wrong". I'm sure there will be other teams around the league who would want Boyle. There are plenty of teams looking for a puck moving PP QB. Boyle is the best in the game at that (assuming Niedermayer retires). Teams will want him to fill that role and teams would give up significant assets for him if he were to come available at the deadline.
Sometimes I wish Feaster would trade Boyle for a bag of pucks. Who needs a proven NHL defenseman who fits the system perfectly and can help contribute offensively when we have AHL vets or rookies. It's so easy to replace a guy who plays 25+ minutes a night. Let's just throw Smaby and Jancevski out there instead. Our overflowing depth on the blueline will make it an easy fix.
Sometimes I think the rest of the NHL is right and the Lightning should move to Hamilton.
Anywhere else Boyle would be a very popular player because people would realize while his defensive play leaves much to be desired his offense is a big part of this team. He is far from my favorite player but those who want to run him out of town are just as bad as those who praise him for everything he does.
