Philadelphia Flyers 1997 Cup Run

Could someone please post the lines, they used the most in there 97 cup run. I'm just making the team for NHL07. I know who the players where, just need the lines that where used on offensive and defence.

PS. ... who wore the C and A's

Thanks

Trouble is, I turn trades off and try and keep the roster unquie. I'm redoing my roster so I play the best roster a team has put out since the 87 to 07

So ...

97 Flyers
94 Rangers
94 Canucks
98 Capitals

and so on

Yep ... I tend to look around and try download the odd video, but being on dialup ... takes ages

But if you look around HF, I have post like this for different teams and fans can pretty much .... trot down the lines from memory, so its alot faster.

LeClair-Lindros-Renberg/Zubrus
Brind'Amour-Hawerchuk-Falloon
Podein-Otto-Klatt
Kordic-Lacroix-Druce

Therein-Desjardins
Svoboda-Dykhuis
Coffey-Niinimaa

Wow it's hard to remember 10 years ago. I think this is fairly accurate, although i'm not feeling too confident about the bottom two D pairings.

As someone who remembers that "choking situation" like it was yesterday, I feel obligated to remind everyone here that re-living that experience is a TERRIBLE ******* IDEA!

If that's what you're doing, I think the 87 Flyers would be a better choice than the 97 Flyers.

I mean, they took the Edmonton Oilers of the 80's to seven games in a Stanley Cup Final. I think that's worthy of being called the best Flyers team/roster from 1987 on.

True ...

But I looked at it this way, there isn't much quality photos of players from that year ... so I can't make many cyberfaces and I didn't won't a team full of default cybers skating around.

Plus I wanted the whole Legion of Doom thing.

Oh boy, that was so long ago, I'm gonna try and help though.

This is a tough one, because Terry Murray loved mixing up lines. Lindros and LeClair were pretty much always together, but they kept switching wingers on the right side. Renberg played there a bit, but I thought he played more on the second line as the playoffs went on, and the Legion didn't play much together after the tail end of the season. I know that Brind'Amour played there some also. They also put Hawerchuk at center between Lindros and LeClair for a couple games. Might have been the Detroit series.

The second line was probably the most screwy. I know Faloon spent time on there, but how much I don't remember. The third line was pretty much always Podes, Otto, and Klatt. For the fourth, Lacroix was pretty much always the 4th line center, though looking at his games played, he was scratched a few games. Kordic dressed more than I remember, Prospal, less.

The Defence I remember pretty well. Therien was always with Rico, Niinimaa loved playing with Coffey, so Murray kept them together, Svoboda and Dykhius were also usually paired I beleive.

If I were doing it, I'd probably do this. Some guys are out of position, but Murray liked to do that.

LeClair - Lindros - Brind'Amour (or swap Renny)
Zubrus - Hawerchuk - Renberg (or Zubrus, and put Brindy on LW)
Podein - Otto - Klatt
Druce/Kordic - Lacroix - Faloon
Kordic
Prospal

Therien - Desjardins
Coffey - Niinimaa
Svoboda -Dykhius
Samuelsson

Snow
Hextall

Oh, and Lindros had the C, with Brindy and Desjardins with the A's

haha, yeah, alough looking back on it, they really were just not good enough. Sure, they should have done better against Detroit, but Detroit was really just a nasty team.

I don't have time rigth now to check it myself, but you can go to my sit e( http://www.flyershistory.com ). If you go to some game summaries, beside each goal there is an "ON ICE" graphic. If you but the cursor next to it, it will show all the players on the ice for all the goals. That should give you an idea about what the lines were.

HAHA i remember it like it was yesterday. That team was possessed. It went through the playoffs as if it was too easy (the 04 team reminded me of the 97 team). I do remember tho that 97 team really wasnt supposed to go that far and it showed in the final.
