Good time for this thread to re appear. Was planning out my yearly trip out to BC for some Spring golf Going to play here http://www.tobianogolf.com/
Anyone pick up any new weapons over the winter, I am going in to buy a 4 wood this week-end and may pick up a new HyBrid as well.
I actually downgraded late last year from my Titleist blades back to my Cleveland TA1 blades. They looks ugly and are little worn down but man do I ever hit them pure. I want to get a new shaft in my Ping G5, maybe a Grafalloy Blue type shaft, it seemed to work for me in the past.

I've added a few things
A Scratch SW and LW
Taylor Made tour issue 4 wood
2 Taylor Made tour issue Burners V2 (9.5 and 10.5)
Had the 3 woods shafted with the Aldila Cinnamon Tour Proto shafts.
At this point in time my bag is set for the 2009 season.
Will rotate 3 drivers depending on course/conditions (the 2 above and 1 Burner V1 with Aldila VS Proto By You shaft)
4 wood
Wilson Staff Ci6 3-PW
Titleist Vokey 50* GW
Scratch 53* SW (bent to 54*)
Scratch 60* LW
Lux Wrightsville putter
Taylor Made TP Black #17 golfballs
Jason, have you considered an Aldila VS Proto By You shaft (mid flight/low spin)? I have one lying around if you are interested in it.
Has anyone played at any courses in Orlando? I'll be staying at the swan and dolphin resort for 4 days in late March. Their website lists four courses:

I've played Osprey and it's a very good golf course. Play it while you can as it won't be part of Disney for much longer. Disney sold Eagle Pines (also a great track) and Osprey Ridge to either Ritz Carlton or the Four Seasons for a small golf resort. The hotel will be built on the Eagle Pines course and Osprey will be a part of it.
There is a PGA event on the other 3 courses every year, so there's an opportunity to play a course that the pros play on an annual basis. I've never played those 3, but I understand that they are always in great shape.
My webshots page (http://community.webshots.com/user/p...host=community) has been updated with pictures from Old Corkscrew (a very good Jack Nicklaus Signature design in Estero, FL) and the Greg Norman designed Tiburon Golf Club Black course.
Just about one month away from going to the Monday practice round at Augusta National!
Highlands Links is being fixed up and when finished mid summer will rival top courses in the world for beauty. Even at its worst shape this summer it looks amazing. Far too many tree's grew in. They are in the process of eliminating a lot of these trees.
I love golf. I'm a 3 handicap at the moment. I hope to get that much lower this summer.

Have you played Tobiano yet? I played it in the summer and it was an experience to say the least. It's visually one of the most wonderful courses I've played. However, the course is located in a wind tunnel -- when the wind is gusting it becomes extremely difficult to play. When I played I had trouble staying balanced on some of my tee shots it was blowing so hard. I'm a 3 handicap and I shot 84. And it was actually one of the better rounds I played last summer.
So if you haven't played yet I hope the wind doesn't pick up. Regardless, it's a gem of a course, but it will be exponentially better if it isn't gusting. Even without the wind it's a tough challenge -- fast greens, narrow fairways, guarded greens, etc.
I am from Minnesota, so obviously I can't golf in the winter. However, I'm in my freshmen year in college in California, and sadly I haven't golfed at all since I have been here .
To make things worse, one of my close friends is playing Pebble Beach as I type this
BTW, I love golf. I work at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota, where the PGA Championship is this year, so I play almost every day in the summer. I am about a 6 handicap. I should be a little bit better but I feel like I'm on cusp of becoming much much better.
This thread has been pretty quiet for a while. How is everyone hitting it this year?
I just got back from Bethpage late last night and played the Black, which closes at the end of this month for the US Open. The course is basically in Open conditions, fairways are perfect and the rough is trecherous (1st cut 1 1/2 inches, 2nd cut 3 inches, 3rd cut and beyond 5+ inches). The greens are also rolling perfectly. The grandstands are all up as are the hospitality tents.
Could be better, could be worse. I spent a lot of time on the range in late March and Early April, and as a result my irons and driver are pretty solid, better than ever in fact, but need work with my long irons and would like to add about 15-20 yards overall.
The putter has yet to catch up though, but I have a feeling it will come around as I was much better last night.
Last 3 times out ( 18, 18, 9): 38-41-79(72), 37-39-76(72), 39(35).
I still need to improve my accuracy with long irons though. Recently I've been laying up to 50-60 yds (par 5's) and 20 yds (par 5) instead of going for the green and playing from the left of the right.
I've played around 20 times or so and have yet to hit into the sand, so I'm pretty excited about that as I'm AWFUL from the trap.
I really need to hit the range, going golfing on Friday, never played the course so it should get interesting, My drives are hardly consistent, but I'm pretty content with my short game.
If Tiger's play at Murifield Village is an indication of where his game is, the rest of the PGA could be in serious trouble. Although he still claims that he still has room for improvement.

yeah, his being able to drive well is danger for everyone else too.
well been playing too much without hitting hte range. my chipping and irons are killing me, combined with the fact i cant stop hitting the ball OB :
hitting OB is killing my score because im having to take stroke+distance.
last 5 rounds 53 (9 holes) i was sitting at 44 through 8 but jet lag just kicked my ass and i scored a 9 on #9, 106, 129, 108, 117. i was on pace to score about a 47 or 48 through 9 the other day but only played 7 or 8 holes because it got dark.
