Boston: Trade proposal

I heard u guys were in need of a top winger so what if we gave u Murray what would u give to us for him? I no he is old but your team is also pretty old and he has 2 years left on his contract. Please give us some offers.

How much does Norstrom make, how old is he and how many points did he get.

Same money as Murray, same age as Murray, not as many as Murray. You explain to me:

a) how fair it is to compare simple point production of a scoring winger and a stay-at-home defenseman
b) how many points Murray will score skating with Mike Ribeiro instead of Joe Thornton
c) how many points Murray will score playing in Dallas

... and I'll admit I was wrong to ever doubt you.

norstrom is a defensive dman. So he doesn't score much. But hes very solid and physical. The contracts are somewhat of awash except I don't think dallas would want murray for the second year. Does boston need a dman? He's a top paring guy with the right partner. But I'm not sure I like that for either team.

i wouldn't mind Murray but i won't pay a high price for him.
he could help us, but he also could hurt us badly with his 2nd year left.

Ott/Miettinen/Winchester/Fedoruk (take one or two of them) and a 3rd

maybe even Ott + Robidas if you need a dman

Change the title OK? Not to be rude, but learn the friggen rules already... I clicked on here thinking a trade had gone down. It isn't that complicated, or is it for "u"?

Wouldn't work with the cap, unless you go One of your four+Robidas. Plus the Stars would need to dump two forwards to make room for one (Will have 15 forwards under contract when the remaining Finns sign).

Stars are at $45 million right now without the two Finns. Assume they combine to make $1.7 million - that's $46.7. Add Murray's $4.15 and that's $50.85. Now, when you take away your lower end forward ($.7 million) that's $50.15 million - way too close to be comfortable. Robidas lowers it to $48.65, but you still need a 4/5 defenseman who will run you $1.1-$1.8 in today's market. So you're back up to right under or over the cap. It'd settle at $49.5 when they get down to their 23 players, and I'd much rather them be around $48.5 or lower.

Only way the Stars do this is if they move $3 million of salary back to Boston.

there would also be the option to dump some salary in another trade...it won't has to be cleared all in that Murray thing

have zero interest in him. Too costly, too old.

True.

So to revise - the only way the Stars do this is if they can clear at least $3 million in salary and two forwards in conjunction somehow, not necessarily with Boston.

maybe we could get Khomitsky over again for the league minimum if he gets a one year, one-way contract...i think that would make Robidas expendable and the Stars save ~1 milion

Is Khomitski NHL ready though? He only had a few AHL games last year.

Personally, I'd rather re-sign Klemm to a $900,000 or less, one-year deal and then move Robidas (who isn't worth his salary).

I think Khomitski would will in well enough at the NHL level - last year Hejda was in a similar position for Edmonton and for stretches he was one of their better Defencemen. but yeah, Ive never actually watched Khomitski play, I just know a bit of background info on him so Im probably not the best to comment on the matter =p

The question is, why are you willing to give him up? Murray is a great fit, and with the rest of the northeast division "unloading" if you will, The bruins are in a decent position this year. (ps, the bruins new unis are sweet!)
