Penguins coming to Winnipeg?

I didn't see this posted anywhere else, so I thought I'd post it. On Sportsnet news this morning they said someone in Winnipeg(can't remember the name) sent a letter to Mario asking for the Pens to be moved to Winnipeg.. Sportsnet said Mario has commented ont he letter yet.

Somehow I doubt asking politely will accomplish anything

Politely?

That's like sending a letter to your neighboor saying something like "Hey man, I know your wife isn't a good cook... so why don't you ditch her and come live with us where you can have something decent to eat?"

no, it's more like "Hey dood, you're wife is damn hot, I want to bonk her, you don't have a problem with that do you?"

It would be great to see The Peg get a new team, but not at Pittsburgh's expense. Call me a softie, but storied teams like Pittsburgh shouldn't be moved and forgotten. I realize they have pressing issues though.

If there going to move anywhere let it be Winnipeg. I wouldn't mind seeing Winnipeg or Quebec get there teams back.

I agree, it shouldn't be the Pens team being moved. Why not get rid of one of California's teams, they have three of them..

I agree, as a american I was sadden by the departures of those teams from great hockey cities. Plus the Jets home unies were among the best in the league, and those great ice surfaces too.

Hell no. Move the Pens to Portland,Oregon. They've wanted a NHL team for awhile now.

The Mayor of Winnipeg sent it to Mario.

They should, but they won't. Ignoring the mediocre arena, both Buffalo and Toronto would not aprove the sale.

If they have to move, Quebec wouldn't be too bad, but I hope they can stay where they are. I wouldn't want to see them moved to Winnipeg.

How about the vultures back away from the Pens? They aren't a rotting carcus just yet.

Well even IF they did move it to Hamilton, wouldn't they have to pay Toronto money because its the Hamilton team will be in Toronto's zone or something?

I would approve bringing the Pens to Winnipeg.

Not many people would get this, but our mayor is gay.

Winnipeg is THE best hockey city which currently doesn't have an NHL team, and better than alot of cities that do.
But an NHL team will not be coming here until the smoke clears from the CBA

An NHL team will not be going there at all....I really don't know why people are even optimistic that it could happen.
