FNF 9 eastern. Pretty good card for ESPN. The undercard is a great match up and the main event is a high profile fight, although the fight itself will probably rather dull.

Won't spoil it for those that haven't seen it, but the Michael Katsidis fight tonight on the Hopkins/Wright under was the no doubt Fight of the Year.

Well, since its over...

Hopkins wins by UD.

Somehow a judge had the fight 117-111.

I had it a 115-115 draw.. Not the best fight in the word, but I don't think Winky is comfortable at 170 pounds.

How do you have a 115-115 draw?

I had it 116-111, but did you give them both 10's in a round, because I scored a 9-9 round.

I scored the 7th a 10-10 round. I thought Hopkins should've had a point deducted as well if not for the headbutt (intentional or not) but for the excessive holding. I thought the clinching was all Hopkins (with exception of the 12th round which Winky held).

Winky didn't look like he was comfortable at 170 pounds.

Highlight of the whole night: Jorge Linares. Dudes awesome.

I guess the next big fight and probably one of I should've saved my money for would be Morales -vs- Diaz.

Thats gonna be a good fight.

Then Vargas -vs- Mayorga. (I got tickets to this one)

I made the 3rd a 9-9 round based on the opinion that both guys looked awful

Well, Hopkins/Winky was everything we hoped it wouldn't be. Damn ugly to watch. I didn't expect it to be pretty, but I hoped for it to be entertaining, at least. I had it 8-4 B-hop, but if you told me you had it 8-4 Winky, I couldn't argue. The undercard was fantastic, though. Michael Katsidis is an absolute monster, and made MANY fans last night, myself included. I can't wait to see that guy again. I youtubed a couple of his older fights, and it looks like he goes to war like that every time he steps into the ring. That kind of style doesn't bode well for longevity, but he's only 26, so we should get at least 4-5 more years of entertainment out of him, so long as he doesn't pull an Acelino Freitas, and lose his spirit on us. With most of my favorites (Hopkins, Hatton, Mosely) having only a few years left in them, I'm very glad to have discovered the likes of Katsidis and Kelly Pavlik recently.

Hatton vs Mayweather is one step closer to becoming a reality. Both parties' lawyers have agreed in principle on the monies, but the date and venue is still up for discussion. They said that the fight may be at welterweight. It should happen near Xmas anyways and would be a dynamite fight to watch. Hatton will only come forward and it will be interesting to see how PBF reacts to his style.

They gotta get it down in writing though..

And for once in his career Hatton isn't fighting a shot fighter. I say PBF doesn't lose a round.

Erik Morales -vs- David Diaz this saturday.

Diaz is underrated and gets a little screwed in scoring cause he doesnt go to the body with "flare." But he's effective.

I'll go with Morales in this one though.

Then Vargas/Mayorga.

I got Vargas with a KO pre-6th round.

At 135 or 140, Hatton has a chance. At 147 or 154, he'll get smoked. Floyd Mayweather pisses me off. Hatton calls him out, so then he calls out Hatton. He says he'll give Ricky his chance, but that he doubts Ricky will take him up on his offer because he believes Ricky to be a coward. Well, if he offers to fight Hatton at 154 at an 80/20 split, of course Hatton is going to decline. Then, Floyd can say that he gave Hatton his chance and Hatton ducked him. It's utter ********. If Floyd were to offer to fight Ricky at 140lbs and split the purse 65/35, then this fight would go down, no question.

If this fight does go down at 140, I'll be more excited to watch it than I will have ever been to watch any fight in my entire life.

wow... do you mean hatton and mayweather is signed... i didn't think it would happen... and at catchweight- does that mean some agreed weight and not in either class... glad to see floyd throw down the gauntlet... i wouldn't be into a rematch of mayweather and de la hoya at all.

Yeah, that's what catchweight means. I think they'll fight at 143 or 144.

hmmm... i think hatton will be ok at that weight he didn't look that good at 147lbs... granted i haven't seen him a lot... in fact,

i've only seen hatton fight twice... vs. Collazo, i was more impressed with his drinking and social skills, in the pre-fight infomercial type thingy... hatton's quite a personality and a win in a huge fight like that might be good for the sport...

i can't see it though mayweather is too big for hatton

apparently calzaghe and kessler is on the horizon too...

good news for boxing fans...

And that list left out a couple good ones like Dawson/Tarver, Ponce de Leon/Bautista, and the inevitable matchups to be made between October and December like Cotto/Mosley. Great time to be a fan right now.

Ditto, I think it's a really good match of styles, wits and personalities in and out of the ring. If you think PBF was rude and mouthy with DLH, he's going to rip into Hatton. But, I think Hatton will have some smart ass comebacks for PBF's verbal diarrhea. He won't just stand there and take it.

Hatton/Mayweather and Cotto/Mosley, hope those fights happen. As a causal fan these are the type of fights that lure me into the sport.

he Mayorga/Vargas and Pacquiao/Barrera fights are of interest.

Always been a fan of Vargas for some reason. When he faught and lost to Oscar remember feeling pretty bad for him because of how bad he wanted it. He then was caught some illegal substance in his body after the fight. Believe he faught one guy after that fight with Oscar. He won, but didn't look good. Also, thought he was going to retire. Nice to see him back even if it's just for the money and not to get back on top.
