i can see boston taking a shot with this guy- i'd rather they not do it, but there is a void on our blueline when it comes to puck movers. he's like berard-lite
what's he making this year? 1.3 mill?

I wouldn't be shocked if Edmonton gave him a try.. our powerplay definitely needs some work and we are mired with injuries to Smith and Cross. Just how bad defensively is he??

that's the thing. don't confuse him with a "puck mover." he can't skate with the puck, he can't pass. he's not an "offensive defenseman," he's an ape with a hard shot. if you get him the puck, he can shoot it. that's about it. at best, i'd say he's a good decoy...PKs can focus on him, while someone with talent can get open to score.

I've had a much different view of Delmore then. He sure can shoot it though. 14 PPG, 18 total last year, but man, 1 assist in 19 games is brutal.

seems like the kind of guy this organization would pick up. We like to fix one thing about our team at once. Last year, we were the worst team for faceoffs, so we got Eastwood, Nikolishin, etc. Then everything else got worse. Then we fixed offensive defensemen (increased icetime for Dempsey, signing Berard, Quint). Delmore seems like the next guy. Sadly.

I really do pity the Blackhawks. The only team that truly knows how us Leaf fans feel. Just add another few years to the total.

I posted on the Oilers Board that i'd like them to give him a shot if he's not that expensive. He's fine on the PP but otherwise useless. They'd have to dress him as a 7th D-man and go with one less forward but if he can help this PP than i say bring him on. Let him play on the PP and a couple of minutes here and there. What does he make?

Dave Nonis of the Canucks said the other night they were looking to add a powerplay quarterback. Delmore may not be the best option but waivers would sure be cheap. If he makes it to the Canucks' pick I wonder if they'd take a chance on him?

When I read that he would likely never play for the Sabres again, the first team that popped in my mind was Boston since they were supposedly looking for an offensive defenseman. Only question now is, is he that “offensive defenseman” or just a “power play specialist”?

Why on earth do the Canucks need a PP quarterback? I think Jovo and Ohlund are pretty good wouldn't you say? Christ, even Sopel is better than Delmore!!!

Good, now Buffalo fans can quit with their defense of the guy.

He's no good.

Whoever defended Delmore or the trade is insane.

This trade was crap the moment it was announced.....

Darcy Regier, sliding down the slippery slope.....

The Canucks have all the tools, but our power play just has not been working this year, and it wasn't me that said it! Dave Nonis was the one who said they'd like a PP quarterback.

Sorry about that i misread the post first time thru.

If i was a Canuck fan the last thing i'd be worried about is the PP. You might have some concerns about secondary scoring and your goalie, come playoff time but other than that i think you guys are pretty damn solid.

As much as i hate to admit it!!!!!!!!!!!!

he can't QB a power play. he has no vision, and he can't pass.

I dunno, I thought he wasn't as bad in his own end as he was made out to be. He was much worse in the neutral zone and offensive zone IMO. Let me put it to you this way, his offense was a lot worse than his defense this year.
