Man I really hope we can bring back Selanne now. Our defense can take the hit of losing Neidermayer, but I'm skeptical of our offense without Selanne.

As much as it hurt when he left, best of luck to him. Without being bitter that he left I would like to say thank you for your years of service!

I know many Devil Fans hate the guy but he help us put 3 big banners in the rafters, I cant think of hating him even though I disagree how he left the team.

Thank you Scotty and Good Luck.

Well that sucks. I was holding out hope he'd come back.

At least it gives us some cap space.

What the hell is this?
None of you are sad!
Oh wow, he is arguably the best defender in the league, a player, who without, the Ducks wouldn't have won the Cup!
My god, you are just acting as if it's no big deal, I'm a Kings fan and I'm probably sadder than you all are about Scotty retiring! It doesn't seem like it, but I'm angry at you Ducks fans...

Whatever. Don't presume anything, and I could really give a ____if a Kings fan is angry at Ducks fans.

Of course Ducks fans are sad to see him retire from the team while he still has many good years left in him, and sad to see the NHL lose such a great player. Regardless of the chance to win more Cups with Scott, I'll be sad for not having the pleasure of watching him play again. I'll always be grateful that Scott chose to play in Anaheim and that he led our team to the Stanley Cup. He made the Ducks instantly better the day he signed with the team.

But it's not like we fans have a choice in the matter. Scott is not going to change his mind because we don't want him to retire. So why cry in our cups when it's out of our control?

Until I hear something official there is not point to mourn. I am not going to take some Minnesota Bloggers word for it. I want it straight from Scotty.

Get off your high horse and go back to dreaming of what a cup win feels like.

If you're going to be a troll, you could at least have the decency to form proper English sentences.

This is just another rumor, and I'm not going to buy it unless it's official and on our official website

Well the rumor has been out for a while now, so it lessens the pain I guess. After the rumor started, and Scotty himself saying he was strongly leaning towards retirement this doesn't really come as a big surprise now.

I don't get the logic behind this.

Doesn't Rob have to answer more questions with his brother in limbo than a decision already having been made?

When your team wins the Cup, you'll understand.

(I love being able to play that card now.)

I know this sounds really dirty but just listen.

Why don't we trade Scotty to the Devils for Elias?

Devils fans would totally hate this move but it's the only team I see Scotty wanting to play again for.

We actually get something for Nieds. Elias is a great winger on the left side.

Elias-McDonald-Bertuzzi

Anyone?

I don't get the logic of him "wanting" to play for the Devils again.

He has a lot of family and friends there after being with the Devils for 12 seasons.

so he want retire because he is playing for SC champs and on one of the best team in last couple of years, but if we will trade him to devils he would not retire and play at least 1-2 year?
