Zanon, Hordichuk, and Klein Sign

Zanon - 2yrs, 700K and 750 K.

Hordi - accepts QO at 517k x 1yr.

Klein - 500K/70K 1yr two-way deal, but will need to clear waivers.

also Thuresson and Dietrich both signed three-year deals.

BTW, Poile did well to get those three deals, IMO.

good signings, though I feel Klein won't end up making the team and someone is going to snag him.

I think the paper is wrong about Klein and waivers....since he has only played 5 NHL games, on a two-way contract, and only 22 yrs old.....he shouldn't have to clear waivers at all, the best I can tell.

He's gonna get traded anyway...and, no he wouldn't clear waivers either (I agree).

He's completed 3 professional seasons, the first one starting at age 20. He's no longer exempt from waivers.

IB, do you just have an alarm in your cave that goes off whenever anyone has the wrong cap number or waiver-related questions?

Irish, he's played less than 60 NHL games how is he NOT exempt from waivers?

I think it's an either/or thing.

either 3 years, or 60 games

It was cruise the boards or sit and do nothing while I wait for reserving templates to update.

I agree with HT. Poile did well to get these three contracts done. Klein is either making the team, or he is going to be dealt.....I am guessing he is going to be dealt in an attempt to escalate our salary. He is a very good prospect.....its a shame that he hasn't cracked the roster yet, as he was NHL ready 2 years ago. Personally, I think he will be a very solid 3-5 guy in this league for quite awhile. His speed, offensive instincts, and ability to make hard checks will serve him well....either here, or somewhere else.
