Pretty dreadful play alright, but he doesn't have a history of doing that kind of thing and it isn't like he rammed him.

Still, he should have gotten a penalty imo, doesn't matter about intent.

Still... he doesn't need to be doing that crap in the 3rd period with the Oilers up by a goal.

Healthy scratch according to ESPN boxscore.

Salo was the first star. Now watch LMHF#1 rip him apart . Everyone knows if this was a home game, that's what would happen .

Well, this is the kind of game they've been winning for the last several seasons, close, giving up lots of chances. Salo appears to have returned from the brink of extinction, and it's nice to see Smyth and Torres score goals.

Brewer and Staios were huge on the backline, and Semenov played well too (with a few hiccups). I see Luoma has moved by Ferguson on the depth chart, that took a whole game and a bit.

Any news on Staios? Looked to me like he maybe took the puck in the throat there at the end, and the DirecTV feed cuts off right after the game. Anyone hear anything after the game or on the radio?

First good look I've had at Luoma, and I liked what I saw. The skating was thoroughly unspectacular, but he was very solid with the puck. Clearing attempts got cleared. Wristers from the point got to the front of the net.

It's amazing what a defenceman who can hit the net can do.

Lynch definetaly didnt look like he doesnt belong.
4 games ago Luoma was a distant pre-season memory, even more distant than a Kari Haakana one. Not anymore.
Eric Brewer is playing like The Eric Brewer. Somewhat astonishing and good to see.
Semenov is limiting his turnovers and picking up his physical game.
Staios is playing like Staios.
Fergie is keeping it simple.
Salo.......... can it be?

Plus, the forwards are starting to really come back, clogging up neutral zone when the opposition is trying to get a clean entry into the zone.
Blocking shots... the PK is getting it done.

Do we see a pattern? (Defense wins games)

I dont think the Hemsky hit was that bad at all. Henry was off balance and Hemmer barely touched him. As for Smyth you just know you will get everything out of him with the C on his sweater, they should just leave it there.

defense wins and tonight was a complete team effort. Tonight, the forwards' defensive contribution was the story of the game.

The more I see Devo, the less I miss Carter.

Brewer was a stud tonight, clearly the leader of the team.

Salo was in 2001-2 form. A strong game without too much spectacular stuff. If he is back, we will make a run for 8th.

Lastly, and most importantly, we have gone 16 for 16 killing penalties. Only one pp against in the last 5 games and now a shorty for us. Defense wins and the oilers are playing defense with confidence. Looks like Mact ate some smarties because he is looking like a good coach right now.

I realised Hemsky gave Henry a little shove at the wrong time. But did anyone notice Henrys skates on the play? It was like one of them hit a rut.......then they went all gibble.

Most plays from a shove like that result in nothing. Bad luck for Henry AND Hemsky.

Hemsky playing gutless on a 2-1 ROUT in the 3rd Dawgbone?

That's why he laid on the ice with Henry checking him out.......that's why he pretty much followed Henry all the way to the freaking trainers room for crying out loud.

Gimme a break.....

decent game, Hemsky may need to watch a game from the pressbox again, he made alot of bad decisions in the game, and never seemed to learn from his mistakes. he hasnt created enough offensively, and has found himself demoted to 3rd line duties. I still think we gotta find a way to get Rita and Salmo back up here. Salmo had a beautiful breakway goal in Toronto tonight, we can use those hands up here.
