"This is where I want to be, but you have to see it from the bright side, too," Kronwall said. "There's no reason for me to stay up here if I don't play. I need ice time to develop. If I can't get ice time here, it's better for me to go down to Grand Rapids."
Good to see Kronwall has a positive attitude and seemingly won't be dissapointed about returning to GR, even though he has played well enough to stay in the show.

Boy that list of defensemen at the top of the article was enough to make me cringe.

Its awesome to see Kronwall doing so well and sad to see him have to go. If they wanted to keep him up though here is a thought and I am wondering what you guys will think....

Send Deveraux and Williams down to Grand Rapids.
Keep Kronwall and Mowers up here.
Move Dandenault up.

When everyone is healthy...

Yzerman - Zetterberg - Shanahan
Hull - Datsyuk - Whitney
McCarty - Draper - Maltby
Thomas - Mowers - Holmstrom

Lidstrom - Schneider
Hatcher - Kronwall
Chelios - Fischer

i agree, devereaux is a lost cause...feel a lot safer with Mowers in his roster spot....

and I hope Kronwall gets to see more NHL time as the season progresses

I think it depends on what the Wings plan on doing with Dandeneult once Thomas and McCarty get back. If they find a way to keep Devereaux at forward, Kronwall could remain up and playing until Hatcher returns. If Dandeneult gets shifted back to the blueline, then Kronwall would be forced out of the lineup.

Personally, I think Dandeneult deserves to keep playing as a forward, regardless of who is healthy. His speed is more of an asset up front, he's not afraid to take the body and he's gotten very good at working along the boards in the offensive zone.
