I just saw a rumor from Eklund that the Stars have interest in defenseman David Tanabe. I don't really know how reliable this guy is. It seems like people on this site are split. I've seen some people who defend anything he says and some who can't stand the guy. I've only been checking out his blog for the past few months so I don't really know.
Anyway, if the Stars have interest in Tanabe, I guess it's safe to assume that a d-man would have to be on the move in a trade. I don't know anything about this guy, but here is TSN's scouting report:
Assets: Has good size and tremendous skating speed. Owns plenty of untapped potential in all areas of the game.
Flaws: Needs to refine his defensive game. Must show more consistency in all aspects of the game. Should produce better numbers, but doesn't.
Potential: Top six defenseman.
Which Stars defenseman do you think is on the trading block? I think that Zubov is the only untouchable d-man.
That really just doesn't much much sense to me. He's a decent guy and everything, but we are deep as hell at that position and probably need to be freeing up more room for prospects.
I'm not trying to say that it's true or not. I was just pointing out that it was said, and that if it happened to be true, did ya'll think that it meant the Stars were dealing a d-man. I thought that the purpose of this site was to discuss the Stars. Maybe someone should supply a list for everyone of the approved topics of discussion.
discussing Mr.E is of course allowed, but nearly no one gives...anything about what he's saying. And remember, Eklund has us also interested in Amonte, Vasicek and Lindros
Oh, and we'll trade Boucher, Norstrom, Jokinen and Ribeiro.
btw, did he now get that Jokinen isn't going to arbitration ?
we've the young ones in the pipe, so it doesn't make much sense for me signing Melichar/Vaananen for longer. I'm not even sure they're better than Klemm ?!
Berard is pretty much done (that's like signing Lindros for offense ) and Sutton is still looking for the big cash.

The rumor AND the website are balderdash. Dallas is loaded-for-bear at the D position and Eklund's site is preposterous. I have a feeling his "sources" that are constantly calling him on his cell, are actually just the voices in his head. Reading that site is similar to reading the "National Enquirer" at the checkout line. You know it is beyond BS, but it still gives you a chuckle.
