No mention of Mike Keane??? He was such a bust with the Rangers, especially when he ran into Pat Lafontaine and ended his career.

I don't know what other center the Rangers could have realistically had in the 3 seasons that Lindros was on the team. I mean I remember being pissed before the 2001 season because we all wanted Jagr then, but the arse of a gm from Pittsburgh sent him to the Caps for less than the Rangers offered them. Glenn Savior did make up for it by trading Anson Carter straight up for Jaromir. And please realistically tell me how getting Lindros set us back? The only thing we surrendered of value was Kim Jonsson and look where he is now... A trade that set us back worse was Pavel Bure, despite him being awesome for like a month. We surrendered a very high 1st round pick in 2002 which Florida used to select Bowmeester I believe... We then followed that blunder with the brilliant pick of Jessiman in the next year which was the most loaded draft in ages.

Brian Skrudlund sucked hard here.

Fedyk was mentioned, but that's a good one.

Poti, Quintal, Lefebvre, Popovich

In goal..McLean although at least he tried...Hebert was beyond done.

I want to cry now.

no....bouwmeester was not picked with that pick...a guy by the name of Petr Taticek was...and he panned out to be a bust...Filip Novak is a defenseman who was traded to them and hasnt done much to date...hes played a few NHL games but hes mostly an AHLer

Willie Huber deserves a spot on this team.

As does Kjell Samuelsson, if only because he was as mobile as a lampost while a Rangers but then carved out a career with the Flyers as refs let him get away with everything.

Valeri Kamensky - Lindros - RW1
Jeff Toms - Scott Fraser - Brent Fedyk
LW3 - Bobby Carpenter - RW3
LW4 - Pascal Rheaume - Billy Tibbetts

Kevin Hatcher - Pilon
LD2 - RD2
Steve McKenna - Dale Purinton

Dunham
G2

Steve McKenna, lots of size, no talent... that's why he's in Australia.

McKenna wasn't a defenseman.

No one was worse than Hatcher. He was very good for the Caps but wanted to semi-retire in wealthy fashion. That's the reason he signed with the Rangers and he made sure he never gave close to 100% - the only time he skated hard was to center ice to take a crap on the logo and wipe his butt with the Rangers jersey. Hatcher=all time most hated player to disgrace the uniform.

Does anyone remember a guy named Jason MacDonald? I remember seeing him play a few games for us and he worked hard, but overall was pretty bad.

If you replace Lindros with Holik, THEN you really have a horrible team. Lindros would probably win a few games here and there for us.

I fail to see how Holik was so bad here.

He was bad here because he was used in a scoring role. Holik is more of a shut-down centerman, not a scoring centerman. Sure, he puts some decent points up with NJ, but not enough to warrant a $9 million long-term contract.

The Rangers paid him to score points and he didn't do it nearly enough to live up to his contract.

Look at him in Atlanta this season...he was used as the 3rd line centerman and played well. I know he's a lot older now and it makes sense at this point in his career, but we expected way too much out of him and he never delivered.

yea but he was mainly an AHL player, these players were good players but played horrible. MacDonald at least tried, same with Gordie Dywer.
