Lets just hope he wasn't one of the ones that fled into the woods. God, would that be emberassing for Ranger fans. From the sound of it, their cousins were the ones who caused the most problems.

“After leaving the property, the group gathered on Highway 61 and began harassing passing motorists,” the sheriff’s office said. That resulted in the arrest of 14 people at approximately 4 a.m. on Saturday morning. "

Seriously how many motorists where passing at 4 in the morning in the middle of nowhere? They where probably trying to hitch a ride is all
On top of that what did they expect them to do? They kicked them out of the hotel in the middle of the night and from the sounds of it no one should have been able to drive, so really what did these morons expect 20 guys to do?
They should have removed the loud ones tossed them in the drunk tank and left it at that.

The EA Cover Jinx strikes again..before the game even comes out!

Ah but seriously..they are young guys..they aren't the first people their age to be involved in something like this..we just hear about it because they are professional athletes.

I'm willing to bet Marc wasn't there because he was back in the jacuzzi room with several Canadian hotties just because he's Marc ****in Staal

All this speculation about Marc...

perhaps he left before 4AM - maybe he's a lightweight, or perhaps he's smart and realized that a bunch of guys getting drunk would lead to something stupid.

I would hope he didn't ditch his own BROTHERS who were getting arrested. I really don't think he would have fled the scene.

All of you have wondered about Marc, but what about their youngest brother Jarred (or is it Jarrod?) Staal. He's around 17, he might have been at the party too.

There's just one quick mention of Marc in the article from viper's post:

Quote:
Curran told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Eric and Jordan, as well as 20-year-old brother Marc, had gone to bed at the time of the alleged incident.
And then you don't see his name anywhere else.

Anyway, way to make a name of yourself: Get about a dozen people on the side of the road at four in the morning and make arses of yourselves. Wonderful way to get yourselves in the news during the summer. *shakes head*

Who knows how many cars... it only takes one car for an idiot to hit with a beer can or scare off the road. Can't drive? Taxi, Bus, friend... usually somthing people think of beforehand... What country is this? "Remove the loud ones and throw them in a drunk tank?" You either A. Lock them up for DisCon like they did or B. They leave. You can't just remove people and toss them somewhere unless they are arrested.

Where I live if people are drunk, loud and not listening but not really causing harm to others they get tossed in the drunk tank over night and released in the morning end of story. No charges no record.
Taxi or a bus? LOL This is some back country town where there more than likely are no buses and taxi services end around 9pm. They probably figured that they could be loud and get away with it. Here is the police weekly report

That should be convincing enough about how small this place is.

But in incident took place in the US. So things like laws and due process apply, not like that no-man's land up there.

Ok... well here's a novel idea. Your having a bachelor party so you know everyone's going to be WASTED. You plan ahead on how you intend to get home. We've all gone out, and had a few too many drinks and had to find a mode of transportation, but if you going to a bachelor party, then you know you aren't driving. Again... they were out having a good time, and got carried away. I wouldn't worry too much about it. If it happens again next week, then maybe there is a problem.

And as for that drunk tank... it's a nice idea and all, but I'm not familiar with anyplace in the US that has that. In order to be taken into custody, you have to be arrested. The only way I can think of around that is to toss them in a cell for the night, and give them an appearance ticket. Again... not something that really happens around here, but up there it's an option... if you really want a loud drunk A-hole in the Stationhouse.

that would be so bad! i can hear them now...
Renney "where's staal?"
so he calls one of the staal brother to find out (he probably wont) "excuse me, where is your brother?"
Staal brother "oh, he wont be able to make it to training camp. He is still in the woods, from escaping from the fuzz"

This is why I love hockey.

In baseball... it's steroids and cheating.
In football... it's shootings and murders.
In basketball... it's ****** women.

Hockey players just get drunk.

You gotta love our sport.

Meh, I have friends who have been arrested for the same things it's not a big deal maybe a small fine. No need to blow it out of proportion.

NBA- Gambling Refs
NFL- Dog Fighting Rings
MLB- Steroid Use
NHL- Drunken Parties....

It could be worse.
