Recruiting Update -- Denver

2008

F Nate Dewhurst (Des Moines, USHL)
F Joe Colborne (Camrose, AJHL)
D John Lee (Waterloo, USHL) (SIGNED)
F Stepan Novotny (Shattuck-St. Marys, MnHS)

2009

D William Wrenn (U.S. Under-17)
D Matt Donovan (Cedar Rapids, USHL)
D Paul Phillips (Cedar Rapids, USHL)

Colborne is a likely first round pick in the '08 draft. Novotny is a potential first rounder in '09. DU hasn't had a first round pick in over 20 years.

DU is also one of the teams in the running for David Carle, Matt's younger brother.

Our 2nd rounders haven't been bad lately

Great job holding Mankato below 8 goals.

So does anyone have a ****ing clue why the AHA doesn't have Army and Air Force as designated rivals?

No doubt. And it's really getting to the point where I'm going to have to learn how to spell his name.

I saw UCONN beat Air Force 3-2 in OT...it was a pretty exciting game to watch but some of those Huskies are dirty ****ers. they're a physically rough team to play against but they pulled some dirty plays behind the play with a few hacks and slashes.

still a fun game though

I'm a Leaf fan *ducks out of the way of flying objects*... what do you think of his NHL potential? Anything to get excited about? I've seen that beauty goal he scored the other day.

Bachman's Revenge

Congrats HH

I only had a chance to listen to part of the game, but I'll be at Magness tomorrow night. Hopefully Denver is a bit more disciplined.

are you saying that cuz DU didn't try to recruit Bachman?

I'll be honest, DU looked bad tonight. I don't know if they were trying too be cute or if they were just off rhythm but many passes were broken up, intercepted or went nowhere. they had a couple opportunities to score on open nets but they just didn't bury it. other opportunities were gloriously smothered by Bachman, but it could have been 5-3 or 5-4 game

for me, the game had it all. great scoring, good D, great goaltending when needed and some fighting...well, NCAA fighting. i didn't see who it was but a DU player got a Checking-from-behind major tonight so they might be without his services tomorrow

They did recruit Bachman, but went with Marc Cheverie (who is backing up Mannino right now).

Thanks for the game story, still waiting for FSN-RM to broadcast some games. They've only had one of the DU/Minny games so far

OT, but I had a chance to watch Michigan and Wisconsin tonight in the College Hockey Showcase....Big10 Net HD....very very nice.

Revenge is a dish best served cold. DU gets the split beating CC 3-2.

CC is a damn good team and I was a worried gal until late in the second period. The Pioneers really hung in there. Glad to have the split. Time for the Sioux fans to descend upon Magness Arena. I'll get a chance to check out Brad Malone next Saturday.

I'm cool with a split...it maintains the WCHA lead the tigers have. we'll just have to wait for the next series to decide the gold pan

Which means there could be trouble if Moser is in the area.
